I have finally finished my lag cable for xbox live. (woot). For anybody who knows a few things about computers/IT these are the steps…
  1. Make Cat5 cable.
  2. Strip 6 in. of sheathing from middle.
  3. Cut Orange cable and strip both ends
  4. Attach ends to Light Switch.
  5. Run around in circles
  6. Eat a burger
  7. Tell your friends
  8. Have fun!

Ok. I'll make it more detailed in a second… and with pictures. But, the lag switch makes it so if somebody is about to attack you, you flip off the light switch and your connection laggs. Then, you walk into a spot to kill them, like from behind in Halo, and flip the switch back on which continues the flow of data in the cable and renews your connection. Be right back with pictures and a guide.

Awesome guide. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gE-ihY_EG0

not really, take a CAT5 cable, strip somewhere in it about 6 inches, cut the bright orange cable, connect the two separted ends to the terminals of the lightswitchs, ????, profit.

BTW you can buy it off EBAY lol , works for ps3/ps2/xbox 360 , for 20$ woo lol ima make this.
and dude do i connect this to my xbox 360?
and cant you get banned from this?

Floor66

2009-06-17 21:54:05

I'm going to use it sometimes in Team Doubles lol.

Honestly, an IP ban is just like one on the computer.. change your ip! =) But, I don't know what the implications of using a lag switch are. I know it's some form of ban, but I don't know much about the nature of the ban.

It would be even better if you rigged up a wireless witch where you could attach it to your controller. Tremendously easy hack, although incredibly gay to play against I am guessing. (I don't own a single console anymore, all PC)

I read that it can be used in PC games as well.. Like Counter Strike for example.

Tniffoc beckons TViYH to come to this thread!

Eh I really don't know how I am going to do this actually. I was thinking maybe something with guts from a RC car or something. Not sure.

I know you can buy wireless switches, but finding a small enough one to aesthetically mount onto a controller would be tough.

Very simple hack, and using a light switch made me laugh…lol, I would probably rather use a rocker switch. Light switch seems so ghetto. I'd also probably solder on an extra length of wire leading from the ethernet cable for ease of use, and of course heat shrink everything back together to make it actually look good.

uh, I have examples of previous case mods and wiring mods, look at my sig.
All the lights and the window I wired myself with resistors, LEDs, wire, solder, heat shrink and what not. I think there is a picture of the light up rocker switch I installed to toggle the lights on my box.
