Well, I must start off with a story, I guess. NCDS told me to tell my "life" story with computers. Here goes nothing.
In my early childhood(~4), my older brother Ryan taught me how to use a computer with floppy disks(the big ones that were really floppy). I don't remember what games we had, but they were epic. I vaguely remember Quest for Glory(all of my 5 brothers played all 5 of the games…). Then I remember when I was 5 I started to play Doom 1 and Warcraft 1. Those are epic games. Amazing stuff…
Time went by, and my neighbors(turns out they are my cousins too), bought the new Warcraft 2, and then the expansion when it came out. All this time, I downloaded many demos from various sites… www.happypuppy.com is one that still hangs in my mind. Life was good.
Then school started, and I got more involved with people then computers, but I still played my favorite games(warcraft and doom). Around the third grade, my mom threw away doom, and we got a new computer, so my cracked version of warcraft was lost. So… I stopped playing games(parents put a password on our dialup connection and i couldn't download anymore demos).
My life is kind of a blur until about 5-6 grade(about 9-11 years old). My family got the "new" satellite internet, and I started using it much more. Napster was used by my whole family, and when that got shut down, we moved onto p2p file sharing for our music. Then(I think) in 7th grade Warcraft 3 came out. This got me back into computer gaming, especially when my friend bought it. Of course I got a cracked version, and started playing on battle.net… about this time my brother and my cousin found a game called "America's Army". When I saw them playing it, I immediatly made a new account and started playing that and Warcraft3 … life was good. Then I turned 12…
In my church that is an age where boys get the "priesthood", and my mom thought it was time that I stopped "wasting" my time on the computer. She set a 30 minute limit to my playing games… so I pretty much stopped. Then in the middle of 6th grade, I was at my friend's house just chilling, and he started playing this game called "Runescape". It was a weird game and looked boring(he was chopping willows). He made me an account(tent_trent), and I started playing. I was major noob, and did random stuff on RS for a long time. One day, I was surfing the internet, and I saw something about "sythe's powerminer" and I followed the link, and downloaded it. It had a color chooser, and I instantly set my guy to powermining iron in the varrock east mine. I left it on overnight, and came back three days later… banned. I quit runescape for some time after that. Then one of my old friends moved back(long story short, his parents got divorced and he went with his mom then later came and lived with his dad), and he told me about RS and I said I had quit it because I had been banned. He showed me his account, and it was really nooby like my old one. I made a new account, and in less than a week was the same level as him. We started playing a lot, but we never really told anybody about it(at school). We started to get into pures(old wildy ftw!), and both made pure magers. We were cursing the mage of zamorak, and I was bored of it, so I searched google for "runescape macros" and came up with a mouse recorder. I used that all the way to 68 magic, and then I got banned, and about that same time, they got rid of the wildy… so me and my friend quit playing. He got into Halo, and I got into America's Army again. One fateful day, I decided to play RS, and I was addicted again. I got the same friend back into it, and we both played a lot(freshman year/ 9th grade). We finally got members. It was fun. Then he quit again, because he "was too cool for runescape, and only little kids play it." I got pissed, but then got way into sports(basketball and cross-country). My freshman year in cross-country, I got 28th at state and was the highest underclassman there. Then that summer, my friend(somehow) got back into rs, and (somehow:rolleyes:) became my friend again. Again, we got members, and were way addicted(he got 99 fletching that summer). This continued until the beginning of this last school year(the cycle of addiction/friendship). That is when I became a registered member of SRL. He was kind of quitting, and I just wanted to learn something new with computers. </lifestory>
SRL lifestory:
I joined in September, 5 days before my 17th birthday. I came here, and downloaded almost every single script in the free-for-all section. I didn't post much, except eventually I saw something about "proggies" and posted one on Narcle's Fast Fighter. I pretty much leeched anything that worked for about a month. Then I heard rumors of an amazing script in Junior Members called forefeathers… I instantly spammed my way to 10 posts, and downloaded it. I read some tuts about armies and their uses, and made like 10 accounts to use for forefeathers. I also found an even more amazing script called "Narcle's AutoFighter". It was beyond my wildest dreams, I couldn't even imagine it. I raped both of those scripts many times. Then I had this weird feeling of curiosity on how they worked. I started to read tuts everyday at school, and at home. I sneaked my dad's laptop into my room, and stayed up late reading them. Then I made my first attempt at scripting, and it was pitiful. I wanted to make a bucket of water buyer at the GnomeCopters… here was the result .... I posted many threads on help needed and such. Script never worked well after logging out because I had no autocoloring functions. Then I wanted a real challenge, and Pm'd Nielsie95 to ask him if I could fix his old tutorial runner. He said sure, so I started. It took me a long time to figure out what the heck did what in that script…:( , but I finally pooped out an almost functioning script. Then I really wanted SRL members… yes, you guessed it, for the scripts. I had heard that many of the best scripts were in there, and I was really interested to see what they were. During my whole time as a Junior Member I raped cows with Narcle's AutoFighter… tbh. So, I started my epic journey towards SRL Members… I made a thread(here) that asked opinions of what script to do, and I decided to make a Varrock West Bank Smither. I worked on that script for a long time, because it was during basketball season, and I had practice for 2 hours a day, and that didn't leave me much time in between homework and dinner. I finally finished it, and started to debug it, and then applied(here). I was extremely excited, and I checked the poll between every class, and like constantly when I was home, and was very anxious for it to be closed and for me to get accepted. Then it happened… my dream was realized, and achieved.(ended 32-2, but the 2 that voted no never posted why?!?) I followed everyone's advice, and continued learning. I had no clue what this "reflection" thing was, so I set out to learn it. I read a lot from Nicbaz's ChopChop, and then Drags111 came back for a short while, and taught me some stoof. That is pretty much where I am now… and I need to finish my current script and release it.
