Has RSBot Given SCAR a Bad Name?
Hi,
when i decided to begin botting, i attempted to use SCAR. This was a few years ago, and admittedly i was a total coding noob. I gave up for then and decided to use recorded mouse movements for most tasks, i got banned and decided to quit macroing.
When i began to bot again around 7 months ago i came across RSBot. It was much more simple than SCAR so i decided to use that over SCAR. I loved it and used it for months without receiving any bans.
Then a few days ago some people on another site said that RSBot was trash in comparison to SCAR, which i found hard to believe. It took them a fair few arguments before i was 'converted' to using SCAR.
So my question is, do you guys think that SCAR is getting a bad name due to the simplicity of RSBot? As SCAR requires more patience to get use to and sometimes a friend to help you out. RSBot is download and go.

No i dont think so, Scar has THE best cheating community around. And we have like 60k users, and 1043 active members.
So no i dont think so.

I understand that SCAR can be downloaded and used easily, but to be used to it's full potential you need to become an active member on these forums and wait a week before you can get your hands on the top-quality scripts (no offense to the people that wrote the FFA scripts, but i have heard good things about the JM+ scripts).

SCAR is the best around, RSBot is easier to use.
There is already a thread about this by the way:

I think SCAR has a nicer community, and it is very easy and you will learn something all the time. We also have IRC and lots of nice people here it feels like home :) Also, I'm not sure about RSbot, but I think you will become smarter here because you will have to learn to script at some time or another which will make you more respected and you will get much smarter, and you can build problem solving skills :D Overall, SRL/SCAR has been very accommodating and nice and I would choose it over RSbot.

Didn't see that thread, sorry.
But some people are incredibly inpatient, they would rather risk their account and get something done in a day then wait a week and stay unbanned.

SCAR I think is less detectable and I think it is an easy language to learn(It reminds me of English lol), and who knows, maybe you could even become one of those script developers some day :)

So you think of RSBot as a leecher vacuum? Can't be all bad then :). I have to say that this community does seem a lot better than the RSBot community, i did see a lot of flaming.

scar is download, find tortise svn download, then go through the scar folder to find the includes then srl then commit the svn then drag the crosshairs fill it out and finally push play.
Rsbot is download enter your user and pass and hit play.
Still Scar > Rsbot in too many ways to mention.
Although the poll on the thread The Man posted is clearly bias, lol. We would vote for SCAR as being better since we are a SCAR based community!
Well if i say my opinion :) ( Waht i think what is the poin for new ones ) Is that.. Thta they are so lazy that they won't read tutorials how to fill up Setup
Like : "Const"
"DeclarePlayers" And so on.. If you get what i mean.. They mabey think that they must edit the whole code or something, or they think that Scar is a bot.. And that Program New; Stuff is just some shit or something :)

SCAR is clearly harder to use than RSBot. RSBot is register, download button, click compile, go. SCAR you have to go through a lengthy (if you don't know what you're doing) process of downloading SvN, etc, and setup without a form isn't all that easy for a noob who has no clue about scripting. Not to mention the myriad of errors you are likely to get. Along with the 10 post + one week requirement to get half decent scripts vs. RSBot's 0 post requirement to get virtually all scripts. Thus, the majority of botters (AKA leechers) are too lazy to use SCAR, which, in my opinion, is overall about equal to RSBot – They see no point in going through the extra effort of getting SCAR.
We shouldn't care though, seeing as now all the leechers are over there, attracting all the attention, while we're quietly botting away with SCAR :)
RsBot may be giving Jagex something to do while all of the SCAR users go undetected. If that were true, it would be great:)
I would agree that SCAR has less leechers, but these forums do have 59,000 inactive members XD. I am guessing around 95% of them are leechers.

Our leecher ratio is pretty low I think. Most inactive accounts are like people created them and they left etc.

Back on the rsbot forums, the members tell me that SCAR is very very very hard to use =S To be honest though, Rsbot was significantly harder for me to download than SCAR.

Alright lets see.
SRL is the best community I have ever been to. I was also stuck to it because I love vBulletin :D.
But RSBot is easy to use. However, SCAR/SRL is also easy to use. You download SCAR and then download SRL. Bam, you can download scripts and use them.
Also, I would like to point out that SRL has you wait to download scripts (Junior members + at least) so that it can keep the leecher count low. I'm sure if RSBot did this then they would have a much lower count as well.

I have been useing both, this is what i concluded:
Scar is very fragile, I found it to crash offent. (This might be becouse of the scripts!) but fairly easy to learn writeing in, just the other day i made it write my name with diffrent colors in paint :D (yeah, still got some way to be able to make a "l33t" script)
About the community, i bet alot of thiese users don´t even bot themselves ;) but mainly help newcomers with scripts, keeping the community alive, and do it becouse they think it´s funny to script in Scar (Pascal or whatever it´s called?)
RSBot Not as fragile as scar, but you have to keep an eye up, since randoms are the main problem. If you can handle them you have an exelent bot at your service, i do miss the ability to change abit in the scripts (mostly becouse i do not have the intelligence to do so, since i know heck about java) I found there community quite amusing :D but that just might be me. And it´s very business oriented, i suspect allmost everyone for haveing a bot army on all the "better" scripts. But to me it´s just too advandce, and runescape is comeing down on it.
If it was to me, i would merge Scars colorfinding with RSbots advandce techonologi. But that might not be as easy as said ?

Cartmann - SRL has Reflection, which is extremely similar to RSBot's BCEL technology. You probably don't notice it much because you're not a Jr. Member yet. Make some more posts and you'll see the true potential of SRL :)

What Markus said is completely right.
Scar and SRL are way more scripter-friendly - a HUGE library of well-working functions allows for a lot of creativity with scripts. It is also the most flexible and versatile - colorfinding "smartness" with reflection's accuracy. Also, SRL has all the randoms solved, which is definitely a big plus :D
I can say all this because I have been scripting for Scion, and although it is easier, it is also simpler. I find it very difficult to write something like my Monastery Terrorist, simply due to the fact that there are only about 3 color-finding functions, and no TPAs (TPAs are AMAZING).
Again, I think my view is completely unbiased, as I have tried both sides of the argument. Scar + SRL ftw!

I suppose that there are good points and bad points to both, I would love to be able to learn to script and to get access to the members part of this board, But I just cant grasp it, Ive been here for ages and still am non the wiser lol, Im hoping that members will take pity on me and look at how long I been here and let me sneak in lol.

Do RSBot randoms work?

Yeah I'd estimate about 50% of SRL's solvers can solve a random at least 75% of the time :p RSbot's aren't any better though.

Dude Rsbot.org is bunch of freak noobs and little kids that dont now how to use more better program like scar
imo, if you are over 10 years old, know how to read, you can auto with SCAR. It is very simple.
RSBot can have all the PR it wants, SCAR is where the true autoing is at. All I see is 50k registered (active) users on their site diverting Jagex from working on stoping us from autoing (a mear 1k-2k active users). So instead of working on finding a method to ban us, they find a client change in RSBot and ban all of you 50k users.
^^Good for us, Bad for RSBot.
