I hate my maths teahcer, and i know she hates me;
All through the year shes been picking on me and my mates. She sits us in a row and doesnt expect us to talk :S thats gonna work, but then when we do, she punishes us instead of the people shouting and screang accross the room. At one point she sent me to the back (childish) and told me to talk to the wall if i needed t talk. i made some new friends that day (laminated ones).
Today, we got our Maths SAT results back KS3. it turns out i got the highest in the year, and she turns to me and says i dont deserve it because i never tried (which maybe true but even so)
So here im just wondering what peoples opinions are.
was i in the wrong for doing well?

Students > Teachers
They are lazy and they get paid.

Yup. My maths teacher is a whuss, the kind of guy that sits with a guitar singing Christian songs by the campfire (NO OFFENCE TO CHRISTIANS AT ALL!).
But urs sounds like the typical bitch >.<
While everyone's screaming and talking you get the blame =\ that's fml :p

but IDK, teachers are all different, some can be cool as fuck, while others can be complete asshole dumbcunts.

Just forget about the teacher, Iv'e had a math teacher which was an idiot and she made my grades get all fucked up. My advice, sit at the front and just listen to the stuff she's saying and don't talk to anyone if she doesn't let you. in the end it's YOU of is going to have to do an exam/test and not HER or your buddies. (this is of course if you give a fuck about your education :) :)

My maths teacher hates people in my class, but still wants them to do well. Your teacher shouldnt be a teacher, to be honest.

Meh. Have you seen the movie. "The Express"?
It's a football movie about Ernie Davis. There's a college coach talking about potential high school recruits, and his assistant mentions this one kid.
Asst. Coach: 'He's only got a 1.7 GPA, but we tested his IQ and it's 128.'
Head Coach: 'Well then we don't want him. Anybody that smart that gets that bad of grades is too lazy to play for me.'
I would guess that teachers want to "make a difference". So, if there are kids that are struggling, they want to help them do well. If they were trying to help some other kid who tried really hard and still got bad marks on the SAT, that probably makes the teacher feel like a failure, and simply reinforces the idea that some kids are just meant to succeed and some aren't.
I don't think your teacher is mad about you doing well. Probably just mad that someone else didn't. I wouldn't take it too personally.
Don't forget what that coach said, though. Test scores are great, but in the real world they're almost meaningless. They might help you get into a better college or get a scholarship, but after that they don't mean hardly anything.

Lol, I learned a valuable lesson a long time ago which makes it A LOT easier to get by with teachers:
Pretend to listen to them and to enjoy having classes with them. I'm not talking about being a teachers pet, but simply pretend to enjoy the class. Of course, if you have had her for quite a while, this doesn't really work… but maybe you could go up and ask her what you can do to improve yourself… that little question has saved countless reputations. ;)
Also, one thing that is a bib NO: don't correct the teacher in front of the class if he/she is doing a mistake. They hate that kind of stuff. ^^
btw, I know this because quite a lot of my relatives are teachers of various sorts (it gives me the shivers to think about it, but yeah, can't deny your heritage… sadly… xD)

Of course there are ones that just wait for you to make a sound and then scream or just still be the same way no matter what you do..
A year or so ago when I was still in my last school the chemistry teacher was a really annoying bitch that always sort of picked a few people from the class to whine to (and whine about them too), not me though, but one day one guy in my class wasn't at school and it was an ordinary boring as shit 2 hours of hell going on and about everyone was just talking and not doing anything and then suddenly the teacher throws some pen to the floor and screams "
*the guys name who wasnt even there* SHUT THE HELL UP RIGHT NOW" or something alike, but still it was directed at the guy who wasn't even there.. Resulted in a few second silence and about everyone there loling. So yeah, some teachers just aren't fair..

Is it wrong to do well in math? Of course not! The teaching profession is pretty messed up anyways, when you have life tenure, why even try? I once had a spanish teacher who could barely speak the English language, let alone Spanish.
Remember, those who can't do, teach ;)

LOL, a friend of mine has a kid in pre-k. He has a bad reputation with his teacher, and always gets "Sad Notes" sent home. One day he came home with a "Sad Note" that was dated from the day before. He didn't even go to school that day, so obviously the teacher was making stuff up, or blaming him for something some other kid did.

You're going to get rubbish teachers because barely anyone wants to by one, so the employer is pretty stuffed for choice.
At my school, the teachers only want what's best for you, and in general, they only have a go at you if its fair. They're generally nice people, you just need to know how to deal with them.
A lot of people try and avoid doing work (I do in lessons I'm forced to do), but sometimes you get to a point and realise you have to try to get anywhere in life.
We should all be privileged that we get an education :)

I think my math teacher is pretty cool, she allows most things that other teachers wouldn't, barely checks homework(quick glance, you can just ppull out a random piece of scribbles)
ANd plus, people calling others with cells during class, all that stuff.
It's a honors course… best thing is that she still gets good teaching done too.

Yeah, just some bitch who hopefully i won't get stuck with next year. It's irritating though, because today she did the same thing to my mate, shouted at him when he wasn't there and then when i argued with her about it, she was determined he was sat there and she was talking to an empty seat. In the end i got sent to solitary for a day and shes being tested for some shit >.>

My math teacher shat brix when we were being taught how to calc hypot length with sin or cos in a right triangle, I told her "27cm * sin 90, div sin 56, but it shortens to 27 / sin 56 because sin 90 is 1" and she shat brix. My math teacher does not know sine law.

Got my science result back as well btw, top marks (not highest though :() but yeah, we have two teachers for science, one who can't control a class so i learned nothing, and one who actually knew what she was doing (unfortunately the ratio of lessons was 3 to 1) :)

She's retiring next year, after 30+ years of teaching.
She explains stuff very, very well.

My math teacher is a fag. I'm in 7th grade and I broke my pencil and went up to ask for a sharpener. Then, while I am sharpening my pencil, another student in 8th grade comes in to make up a test. Then he asks Mr. Gulden (my math teacher) where to sit and he points him to my seat I was sitting at. Then after I am done he says "you snooze you lose, Kyle.". And I proceed to say what the fuck. Then he is like go to the office. I went there and got suspended from his class for two days. Wtf?

that was the same for me too, at a few points in the year she ran out of the room crying and it ended up being me and my friend who did nothing all year but watch movies on an ipod got the highest scores in ks3 sats and she seemed real pissed off that the kids that worked failed and we got the highest.

I remember my seventh grade teacher… I got the highest state/MAP testing scores in math, but got a A- average, I improved from 242(9th grade level) in MAP testing to 262 (11th grade level) and she didn't even let me skip 8th grade, which is pretty much a review of seventh; which is pretty much a review of sixth -.-
she said I didn't try hard enough and would struggle in algebra 1… I helped some of my mates in algebra do work, and was hella bored in 8th math.
Oh well, she had to deal with me for another year, and they let me go straight to algebra 2 (algebra 1 teacher thought it was too easy for me)
lulz…

I got an italian math teacher. He's awsome and knows everything. He explains with analogies, examples, stuff that he ACTUALLY MAKES.
He even criticizes the way other teachers teach, and how he despised it xD lol… best teacher ever.
I had a great math teacher, but she just left the school and i'm getting one of the worst teachers in the school :fiery:
