Project - Keep good scripts in SRL Members.

I was reading a post the other day and started too think, The JR.Members are having a lot of scripts which they should, with all rights but how come that we start to post all of our scripts in JR.Members when we, the SRL members are the guys that contribute to this forum don't get as much?.
Sure we got some good scripts, Half outdated that we can fix but the JR.Members scripts are the ones that are useful and that can actully get you some serious EXP or GP's.
With this said, if i ask You, would you move your script to SRL members?
Sure it will get less used, but what's the point of letting leechers use a script, that will just let it get more and more detectable when the ones that actully contribute can use it while they need it?
As most of you know, I don't release a lot of scripts. But if some people with leading scripts would move their scripts, i be more then happy to release my Aviansie script to SRL Members with some more scripts following.
Note:
Do not post Great/bad idea without explaining why.

Well, the reason I have posted my two released(if you can call them) scripts in Junior Members is because I want them to test them out, and get all the errors out. Plus, mine aren't that great, so I don't really think that they are Members+ worthy.

I knew someone would drag up bug testing..
My idea for that is pick out 3-5 people to run it…
Can't be so hard finding people willing to test scripts, no?
Not everyone is cut out to be a scripter. The Jr. Members scripts section was created to cut out complete leechers. With the standards everyone is suggesting for acceptance of srl members, it would take most people months of working hard, and still maybe not even making it in. Then they will become frustrated and leave.
Although I do agree that more scripts in the members section wouldn't be a bad thing, we still need to keep majority of scripts in the Jr section IMO because of the ridiculously high standards for members.

The thing I'm confused about is really what your reasoning is behind this. Can you not use Jr. Members scripts? Sure they may be used more but if you're that concerned about being caught because you're script runs like 100's of other peoples I know you can modify it for your own personal use.
I just don't see the problem with letting Jr. Members use scripts, when the only benefit in moving scripts to SRL Members is that they'd be less used. The negatives are just too abundant to outweigh the positives in my opinion.

The problem is that most SRL members write their own scripts and therefore run their own scripts. I can't remember the last time I used another users script.
As a result, if you post the script only in SRL members no-one uses it and you get no feedback.
There's always the expception to the rule but I do feel that that generally just about sums it up.

Well one script that should never have been moved for example is Hy's fightcaver. I somewhat agree with you, and somewhat don't.
I can understand where people are coming from about not getting used as much so they don't get good feedback.

Here is what I have to say about this situation:
This has been brought up several times.
There should be some working scripts in the Members section.
There should be many scripts in the Junior Members section, so there is still an incentive to join.
I think you have a good idea, and I will make my script work again and move it to the members section. I will have to find the code (good luck to me baahahaha) but, pm me if you want this.

But not better ones than the people actully contributing?.

Less used, less leeched and less bannable.
And sure i can use them, but being banned for it? No thanks.
Btw, what's the point of trying to get members when everything is dead?

People want their scripts to Jrs because they want epic fame… (Well, maybe we can declare an exception on Wizzup's and some others' part but..)

I really don't want my script WaBiCrab to be released to jr mems =\
It's just way too exclusive (like your aviansie script) and only other 1337 coders deserve it ;)
I even have a few scripts I don't give out to anyone.

That's why I made the point of you editing the script, but I understand what you're saying. As far as getting into Members goes, you're definitely right about that, and that's also been discussed before.

Meh, I never use my Caver anymore, and I don't really feel it is Members Only exclusive in the terms of quality. Sure, a lot of leechers use it, and they will probably be banned for using it. Most people that use it will be banned at some point. Me moving it to Members Only will just make less people get to enjoy it. Unless I move it to Members and revamp the entire script (which I do not have the time, nor effort to do), it will be the same detectability in Free, vs Private.

Keep in mind we're not the only botting community. Just because a script is members only here doesn't mean there's few people who bot at the location it's meant for. For example, RSBot has a free Aviansie killer that hundreds, if not thousands, of people use. The difference between putting an SRL one in members and Jr. Members would be rather slim.

Umm… except that rsbot is detectable, and reflection with srl is not.(unless it acts like a bot). I think N1ke's script will be way better than Hidendra's(no offense to him), especially with antiban. Each script acts differently and if N1ke released his to members only then less people would use it and the patterns that N1ke's has will be seen less, but the one Hidendra made is going to be looked for, so N1ke's would = less ban.

IMO the differences between the scripts would probably be minimal (of course, I could be wrong. Maybe RSBot's always stands in one place or something, I wouldn't know), and if Jagex really started watching Aviansies they'd catch the few SRL botters too.
[offtopic] Btw, RSBot is not detectable in itself, otherwise I'd have been banned about a month ago. And as far as I know Hidendra's has antiban, or if not the majority of RSBot botters (should) use an antiban script with it.

Actually it is detectable, they just don't do it very often. RsBot hacks the listeners, and that is what is detectable. Compare the amount of ban threads on rsbot to the amount on here. /end argument of rsbot and srl

I think that making the best scripts for only members would just increase the amount of people applying for members with only the hope of releasing scripts, not to be a part of the srl-members community.

but then again, thats why i started scripting. Harry's fightcaver was members only so i started scripting to get it. By the time i got accepted into members he released it to jr members again and I didnt really care because I ended up like scripting more than playing rs. So bottom line, I think it would be benificial to keep scripts in members. Thing is, I think alot of us (Including myself) think that because we're members we dont need to give constant feedback or give proggies, which we still need to do if we are going to keep more and more scripts in members.

Not to start another RSBot vs SRL argument here but…
1) RSBot scripts tend to run longer == more abuse
Proof? How often do you see an SRLer getting a 99 skill or 30m+ from botting? Practically never, and when it happens it seems to be a pretty big deal, whereas in RSBot it happens nearly every day.
2) The (crappy) RSBot community is much larger (I'd take a wild guess of about 20x larger?).
Proof? Besides the active user count (cbf to check it right now), there's at least thousands of 0 post leechers that use it.
If it's as easily detectable as you're saying I think I would have been banned within hours of using it, much less a month of 10/h a day use.
[/offtopic]
Why are we arguing about detectability anyway >_>. Fact is, many RSBotters (and I guess some other bots too) are out there getting the attention of Jagex in popular botting locations which, in turn, renders making SRL Member scripts for those locations pointless. In my opinion, the only scripts we should be putting in members are the original ideas (like LAME, Zanaris Alcher before it was widespread, etc.).

I agree with n1ke. The members section needs and deserves more scripts.
Feedback? - GJ, Thx. Failed totally. ; that's the kind of feedback you get from most juniors.
I posted my fisher in members, and after two days i had a suggestion i had never had in JM or FFA.
Fame ? Famous for who? You will get more fame in the members section, where other members will actually bother to read the script. If you want your script to be famous among the leechers, sure thing, but it isn't the most glorious thing.
Finally, security is a good argument. I have versions of my fisher all over the forums. But i'd never risk having my autoer repplying the same thing as someone else's in the fishing guild! And i avoid that by not oppening it to the masses!
Going on, Fawki once released a guard fighter, way, way back. Soon after he couldn't use it himself cus he wouldn't be able to find a single world which wasn't already using his script.
And more, why do you think so many people get banned / flagged for cutting willows in dranor, or cutting the falador yews? because SO MANY PEOPLE DO IT!
Yes, we might not be the only communitty… but to the SRL Members there's less than 1k persons to access to it. And even less so who are active. In the JM Section there's nearly 50k people with access and at least 3k who are active.
Now have a look at it. 300 people autoing the same spot or 3k. Do you think jagex will notice the difference?
Finally, we have all seen how jagex counters our money making and rwt scripts. By keeping them more private jagex will set a lower priority on it.
Finally, scripts are the pride of SRL Members! Imagine you buy yourself a ferrari. Will you drive your friends in it, or will you drive every single beggar you find?
Sure, i also have scripts in JMs. But I do keep the precious jewels here. Give Them something to work for.

imo, there arnt so many active members, maybe at the most 50, well who i see still posting anyway. so for every person member autoing on runescape atm, theres 1696.78 people who arnt members of srl autoing. this is a tiny amount, less than one per world. with say, a Avianse script there is nearly no chance jagex has the time nore effort to flag people using these scripts.
