SetyupSRL messing up my script.

Currently making a script for which the details must remain private, however it requires me to click the transportation icon and use strings for a certain npc.

Now my strings weren't functioning before because the Text would cause an access violation, so I added SetupSrl; to my main loop, but this caused the transportation bitmap that is included with srl to mess up (where the script is running there is constantly an npc standing beneath it.) And I was wondering why is it that once i add setup srl it messes me up but works fine before, also how do I fix this.

Here is the script.

So without setupsrl, symbol finding works and uptext finding didn't. With setupsrl symbol finding doesn't work and uptext does. Is that what you are saying?

Yup.

Try adding SymbolAccuracy:=0; after setupsrl;

NO dont do that. Thats insane. Then it will just click anything. I dont know what symbol accuracy is set to without setupsrl but with setupsrl its 0.8 try like 0.6 or keep going lower. Preferably in a loop slowley going down so that you slow work it. if you use 0 then obviously it can match it to anything.

Symbol accuracy is set to 0 without srl (as far as I can see from reading srl.scar and symbol.scar).

Edit: run this

program New;
{.include srl\srl.scar}
begin
writeln('without setupsrl - '+floattostr(symbolaccuracy)+' (worked)');
setupsrl;
writeln('with setupsrl - '+floattostr(symbolaccuracy)+' (didnt work)');
symbolaccuracy:=0;
writeln('with setupsrl and my suggestion- '+floattostr(symbolaccuracy));
end.

Also, findsymbol doesn't entirely depend on symbolaccuracy, the name of the variable is a bit misleading. It match it to anything.

Adding symbol accuracy=0 fixed it all up :), thanks guys.

But its the defomity factor. So if it finds it within tolerance range it returns how deformed it is. So the lower the number the more deformed. I just think setting it to 0 is a bit drastic.

Drastic? A loop slowly going down seems more drastic, considering that he said it worked without setupsrl in his first post (meaning 0), and that the only way setting to 0 can screw up is if there is something on the minimap that looks kinda (within 70 tolerance ) like the symbol bitmap, but isn't, and has a color in it that is within 70 tolerance of the symbol color, which is unlikely.

By drastic i mean. like taking measures to far. I guess your right. but still. I stand by my desicion :p. But if it works then it works.

More than 1 way to skin a cat, or 'shear' a sheep;) .
