I just got Google Chrome and it seems twice as fast as Firefox…
there seem to be a lot of cool features as well.

Personally, I like Google Chrome

Firefox at least has some decent addons, so I'll stick to it.

Wow, I just downloaded Google Chrome and I gotta say, It's really fast!

IE: Super Fast Startup / Very Slow Web Surfing
FireFox: Super Slow Startup / Fast Web Surfing
Chrome: Super Fast Startup / Super Fast Web Surfing

It's still In beta it seems, I think. It doesn't have nearly as much addons and features as firefox and it lacks in many ways, but it's new and knowing Google it will probably be the most used browser in a year or two. I recommend it over firefox. But keep firefox at hand, some sites aren't designed with Chrome in mind yet so you sometimes need to switch to Firefox. Only on occasion though.

Yeah, Google seems to pwn at everything it does (Gmail, Google, Google Docs, etc) Its new and undeveloped now, but its speed…amazing

Im sure it will become more popular in the future

What I would really like to see is more add-ons for Google Chrome, or a simpler version of FF.

Firefox. It has great addons, looks better than chrome (chrome looks way out of place in my environment), is very secure, and extremely customizable.

Before you ask, yes, I tried chrome for two days. I don't like it.

I've heard Chrome plans to eventually be compatable with all Firefox 3 plugins, but until then, I'm picking Firefox for my plugins :)

Firefox. I like the add-ons and the ability to have upwards of 50, 100, 200 tabs open at once.

Floor66

2009-04-06 02:49:16

FireFox = :norris:

If it starts up slow your pc is shit :p
FireFox has a great tabbing system, security, add-ons, compatibility with all sorts of things that chrome doesn't have.

Firefox is fine, but when you start it up it's pretty slow, one weird thing is when you kill it in the taskmanager. If you run it after that it starts so FAST.

That isn't weird… Cold Start vs Warm Start.

Firefox is great, but alas it uses much more memory than chrome does, especially with more tabs open. Chrome however has no addon support (not that I've found anyway I could be wrong) and firefox has addons to do everything!

I mean even when you just exit it it's still slower than that you terminate it directly and then start FF.

I use Flock, and its better in all ways to FireFox, FireFox 3 has stolen the images and some features from Flock, even though Flock is based of FireFox, seems like FF is failing, hard.

i just figured out a great feature of google chrome. I was working on a science project on google docs (my sci teacher wants) and one of my other tabs crashed. unlike ff, google chrome only closed that tab..amazing

That's the product of it spamming your process list with a process for each tab.

Whenever ff has crashed for me, when I restarted it, ALL the tabs re-loaded…I think that is better then losing 1 tab, lose them all, but get them all back.

I personally like Google Chrome, but I've only been using it for a day. Honestly Firefox has been crashing frequently for me so I moved to google chrome.

PS: Google chrome's built in spell check thinks that its own name is a spelling error :p

Just curious, my flash drive is pretty slow anyway

Smartzkid

Well, I don't know about the speed, but there definitely is a portable chrome. I use it in school and confuse the librarian :D

I hear IE8 is pretty nice..

IE8 has a good advertisement :D

it was on here yesterday..

it has charlie the unicorn and lolcats and dancing rodents or something?

idk

but it made me want to try it :p

I just tried running Chrome to load up a few of my pages, took ~ 6 seconds per page to load. FF takes me downwards 4.
