Site Update

I have been very busy these days, but I wanted to give you guys a small update on what I've been doing and wanting to do soon.

I have added iSpy, and as some have probably noticed, I've been messing with the ads too…
My main priority at the moment is a Wiki. It shouldn't be too hard to set up, and I think we should really put some effort in, it will pay-off well in the future. I believe a Wiki is definately something SRL needs.
Next on my list is the Bugzilla and SRL-Developers Repository.
The Bugzilla should also not be too hard to implement, but I want to wait with it until SRL will open up it's repository.

Not the previous revisions… Sorry guys… some developers didn't like the idea of showing every revision of SRL… It is still being discussed but I don't think we will keep every old revision. (At least not in the public SvN.)
So the new Revision will start off with Revision #1. And every commit done by the devs will be on that Repository. There will be notes of the latest "Stable" Revision, and I'll make sure to make a Bash-Cron Combo that provides snapshots of the latest SRL, and the latest stable SRL.

SRL-Stats is another thing on my list… As I have stated before, I don't have much time at the moment. (Uni is taking up alot of my time!)

I have a general database structure set up, and I think I can generally create every possible query one would want to execute on the Database. The parts I dislike are the HTML parts. (And some PHP parts.)
So if anyone would like to help, tell me. (Some experience in PHP/HTML would be nice…)
The new Stats system will be able to track just about everything… All commits will be stored. It will also contain a caching system to make sure it won't cost too must load of the Server.

Most likely there will soon be a restructure of some Forums and their sub-forums. But you will notice in due time.

Hm… That's about it for now, I'll keep making small changes to the forums. (Like adding Chuck Norris smileys…)
I typed this out in about 10 minutes, so the text might contain some spelling errors.

Have a good day.

Hooray! :)

Bugzilla will be a nice thing!

I really hope we go for releasing all SVN updates, makes quicker updates in my opinion. Right now people submit bug reports and the devs will say "added to dev svn" and then everybody else has to wait for 2 - 3 weeks or even longer till the next public svn revision comes along.

Sounds good, thanks for an update.

I also agree with Bob about having the SVN updates be public so people can begin to use their scripts again when something goes wrong.

I agree with method and bob, I've been waiting for the GetSymbolColorIn and GameTab 3 fixes for a long time. I've released scripts using both of these methods and it's a hassle trying to get everyone who downloads to apply the fixes.

Black market forums? :)

Would probably be the easiest thing to complete in comparison to everything you mentioned that needs all that coding.

Yep, the dev repos will be public, so whatever gets commited the public will have immediate access to.

I fear you might have not correctly interpreted my post. There is no doubt there will be a public repository where all the changes will be committed to.
There will be no Developers SvN anymore. It wil all be public. (Although the commit permissions will currently be Developers only.)
There was only a discussion wether we would also release _all_ the previous revisions. (Approx 2500.)

Oh ok, I thought the discussion was whether or not to do a public/dev svn all in one.

We are going to keep all the cookies in SSRL+ right? The auto-responder for example.
