1k Posters promotion

I am thinking of building in a 1k poster promotion. All I need is a cup. Anyone?

This doesn't sound like a good idea to me. To praise a person for a large quantity of posts instead of praising them for the quality of their posts just doesn't seem right to me.

I'm with Bebe on this one. We have enough spam as it is. No sense in rewarding it.

Now what we could do is push the useful poster cup…

Agreed. Would just make spamming more prevalent. Pushing the usefull poster cup sounds like the way to go.

Agreed. The celebrations threads are enough.

:( but I like being like one of the few with that cup :p

Just kidding. Push useful poster, like judge hammer.

Make it 3k and I'm in.

Maybe add in another auto title change…

Like how below SRL Memeber if they have over 300 they are community member and such… maybe make over 3000 or 4000 a "Forum Adict" or "Mega Poster" or something like that?

I also disagree, post count reveals nothing about the user apart from the amount of spam they've posted. Its better to reward them for something like longevitity instead (which we already have). Although I'm not against something like a 3k post count cup - 3k being a rather uncommon achievement but definately not a 1k cup which the majority of members will be able to achieve easily.

is 1000 posts easy? 1000 times spam? You'll be infracted and kicked from SRL before you reach 20 useless posts. If you do 3 posts a day, you'll still need 333 days frequent posting.

I think you are overreacting a bit here. I checked the database and only 105 Members have achieved this so far. So it is rather rare actually. ( Only 16 with over 3k posts btw.)

If you manage to do 1000 posts, they cant all be useless, now can they?

But ok agree, lets not do this :)

Well I think we could do something but just not as… pronounced… as a Cup.

Maybe just something like a hidden auto rank with more inbox space or bigger avvy space or something?

It's easy to make a mass amount of posts without them being considered spam-ish enough to be infracted for. Just look at some of my old posts… Lol.

Ditto JAD.

I think a good way to encourage improvement would be to only allow 'useful posters' to use iSpy, or something like that. Would also decrease server load from the mod :p

Only 31 people have that cup…

I think it may need to be pushed more also, the cup.

But I do think the iSpy should come back even if its SSRL+

I miss the longevity and activity bars…

Sure they can, look at n3ss3s and JAD :p The new forum rank sounds good though, its incentive without being something to aim for…its hard to explain what I mean but its different somehow to a cup. I've always thought we've had too little forum ranks, we have what 3? Other forums have ranks going all the way up to 10k posts, we have up to 300 lol.

Rather than rewarding posts anywhere, maybe a cup for those who post x amount across the helping forums or release x amounts of scripts. It gives people the aim either to produce more scripts or help people more rather than merely posting for a prize.

Instead of a single cup, what about something more like a rep bar, but for posts? Fawki is right, I didn't understand how you people thought you could spam 1000 posts easily…

EDIT: Yeah, I'd like the iSpy back also. It showed things besides posts, as well.

Jason2gs

Make it 2,373 posts, and I'll vote yes.

(You're gonna have to lobby a bit on this one.)

True, but will it be as rare with a cup?

+1 for mixster, quality over quantity.
