An Idea

Hey, I was using a pest control bot/script and I found it to be quite limited in the fact that you cant really go very far as to walk to each individual portal.

I have no idea if anyone has thought about this before but i thought about the possibility of using GetMyPos in pest control to deliver some sort of way to walk the island without knowing the exact position of it.
I realise this doesn't make sense so Im going to try and explain it:

  • You arrive on pest control and you use GetMyPos.
  • You use your position to map the rest of the island. E.G East Portal may be 15 squares south and 10 east.
  • You can then walk to any of these portals no matter which position you start of with.

Pro's:
  • Ability to make a Pest Control Reflection walking script!
  • Void Armour
  • Exp
Con's:
  • Boat starting position may vary making it impossible to make it accurate
  • Could take longer than just making an equally good color one

I hope this makes sense.

This seemed quite obvious to me for a while and I hope I haven't insulted anyone else's intelligence when I say this.

Please post comments/feedback!

Fix for this would be to run by the Void Knight and get his tile. Then make the map for the whole island :D

Excellent! So did you also think of this?

Yes I have before. I just am not a good enough scripter to make a good PCer.

Well, im gonna sleep on it and see what I can come up with. (Not promosing anything at the moment!)

Ive done all this bassiclly, made a walking for it ( based off GetMyPos ).

this is what i did… at the start of every game i got my pos, and set it as a global var as a TPoint.

Wrote up a little function that walkings off the Tpoint eg..

function Example(T: TPoint): Boolean;
var
Tile: TPoint;
I : Integer;
begin
Tile.x:= GlobalTile.X + T.X;
Tile.y:= GlobalTile.Y + T.Y;
if not TileOnMS(Tile) then
begin
for I:= 0 to 10 do
begin
Tile.x := Tile.x + I;
if TileOnMs(Tile) then
Break;
end;
for I:= 0 to 10 do
begin
Tile.y:= Tile.Y + I;
if TileOnMs(Tile) then
Break;
end;
Exit;
end;
WalkToTile(Tile);
end;

I wrote that in this post so it won't work haha.

Why Srl Members only? I guess mems do need more scripts.

I also got some idea's :)

If I decide to take this on, thats 3 projects for me.

Nice one N1ke! Knowing your scripts it should be great. Will it be SRL members only?

Ability to make a Pest Control Reflection walking script!

no… reflection walking doesn't work inside Pestcontrol game.

Believe me i tried it and Narcle proved it and cleared it up for me…
its because there are like 100 worlds and games go on everywhere its something like that.

so it be better if you make it color base walking… the 1 i have is just go to middle.

How about, find an object which is always on the same tile and use that as a reference(0,0) tile, you check what tile that tile is on and you know all the other locations aswell :)

Thats why we reflection map out…

I.d's of objects = same. And mapping isn't that hard. The islands don't change size…

edit: AN EXAMPLE

walktocenterofboat; // ONLY COLOR FUNCTION NEEDED.
myposition := point(3000,3000); // Point you are at center of boat. (yes it changes but watch)
voidpos := point(myposition.x+20,myposition.y-2); // Void nights pos is always 20 blocks up, 2 over (not really but for my use it is).

And you can use that method to map out whole island…

Err. All you'd have todo would be get the position of the Void Knight, as it would be a reference to the world. Then Base everything else off of that. Something like:

function GetRefTile(var GTile: TPoint): Boolean;
var
P: TPoint;
NPC: TNPC;
begin
Result := False;
GTile := Point(-1, -1);

P := GetMyPos;
WalkToTile(Point(P.x, P.y + {The distance from boat to knight approx, just go get the knight loaded into the NPC array}), 3, 0);
R_Flag;

Result := FindNPC('night', NPC);
if Result then
GTile := NPC.Tile;
end;

Probably better to start it inside the boat once the game has started. Instead of making your paths using tiles that you would detect, subtract the current reference point tile from the tiles that you want to walk to, then to make it walk there, each time a new game starts get the reference tile position then add on the numbers you got for the tiles after you subtracted the reference and that should be the actual tile for that game.

You hurted my brain. Lol. But seriously… I dont understand what you are saying.

Get your/Knight Tile.

Get Portal tile.

V:= Knight - Portal;

Next time you get in PC,

Portaltile:= KnightTile + V;

I think that's what Claw is saying.

The Claw

^ Yep. Just go into a game, get the positions of all the tiles you want to walk to. Then, get the position of a reference tile (any tile you can consistently walk to without using reflection). Subtract the reference tile from the tiles you want to walk to. So instead of having the tile numbers of the places you want to walk to for that game, you'll have like (10, 4), (20, 30) for example. Then at the start of every game, have it walk to your reference tile and add that on to the tile numbers you want to walk to (10, 4) etc. You should then have the correct tiles for that game, which you should be able to walk to using reflection.
