Is it possible to type a message into the Runescape chat whilst running a SMART script?
Thanks

No.
The only way to type while S.M.A.R.T. is running is to:
Pause the script you are running, and click the disable SMART button on the SMART window. You can continue running the script afterward by re-enabling it and resuming the script.

Albeit incredibly buggy, it is possible to click on the chatbox and type while SMART is enabled.
So the answer to your question is yes and no. Yes it's possible, no because usually when typing something it will get stuck on a letter and type that letter until you disable SMART.

A method I use quite often is to have a second script send a message to the first script using "SendInterSCARMessage(id, message: string);".
I then have the first script read the string using "ReadInterSCARMessage(id: string): string;".
Once the first script has that string I use "TypeSend(Text: string);" to send the text in game.
I have attached a few scripts to show how this can be done.
You'll need to have two separate SCAR windows open. Run the "Listener" then run the "Talker", and type into the prompt. Once you are done just hit cancel, and when you go back to the "Listener" you will notice all of your text has been typed into the debug box.
If you have any problems customizing this script to suit your needs, just PM me and I will create a "copy and paste" solution for you.
lol I didn't know about SendInterSCARMessage and I thought you made it ;D
you would be like.. GOD! :D
you could do RC with this and it would be like sex.

i was wondering this too, glad to finally know =]
@ the_scripts, isn't that longer than just pausing? XD
( or maybe im just lazy )
it is longer, but if you realize how amazing this could become, you should think about it some ;)
(not saying you're not thinking.. you're new here :) btw you should check out the tutorials for beginners section.. Aser came out with one and it looks pretty good :D and IceFire has one that is AMAZING! ;))

thank-you for the tip =]
still getting used to the forums and all <3
function SendText:Boolean;
var
query: String;
begin
if IsFKeyDown(10) then
begin
query := Readln('What do you want to write?');
TypeSend(query);
end;
end;
Simply checks if F10 is down. If true it will ask you what you want to write and it will write it.

Chances are you are already running a script or you wouldn't have the problem of not typing into the window.

You could put it into the script and call the function regularly.
