Now, giving SSRL the power to hand our warnings and infractions is a privilege that we as a staff felt you all as a group could handle. As I review all the infractions/warnings given I have noticed something that I believe is a short coming on our part, the staff, of properly telling you when and went not to infract and infraction etiquette. So I am going to give you a brief out line of this…
First thing to always remember:
Before infraction, think about and check all information twice before giving and infraction.
One of the most important purposes of an infractions is the message to the user. The "infraction points" are basically the kick in the but to make the message sink in, but the message should be the focus point of the infraction. We are here to help people learn and succeed, sometimes more than just at scripting. A simple warning or infraction if it is said in the right tone can completely turn a users attitude around. This brings me onto the next point…
Always keep the messages to the users in a positive, constructive criticism tone. Again we are here to help our users and if they have deviated from the rules we want to correct them in a building way so they will stay here and be active for a long time.
Stuff like this isn't very encouraging for someone to read, it portrays the message of "Yeah whatever, you're just another rule breaker"
Where something more like this helps the user, it doesn't need to be long to be effective. This one relates to the user to build a relationship, then it identifies the problem to the user, then it gives an explanation of why it is a problem.
Not much more to type is it? But its a completely different tone. There is one this that could have made the second message better though. Give a solution to the user of how to correct the problem or link them to resources to do it.
I would really like to see an improvement in effort from you all when giving infractions. You are SSRL, you are the 'elite' or the SRL Member, you set the example. If you guys set an example of disconnection and being indifferent to the well being of this community, then the roots of this community are sick and it will not last.
So to recap…

Message to User:
Read the rules etc., mmkayh?

Message to User:
It is understandable that you want a quick answer, but spamming is not the correct way to achieve it.

So to recap…
- Check twice before infracting
- Focus on the message with these 4 points:
- Relate to user to build a relationship and openness
- Identify the problem to the user
- Explain WHY they are receiving it
- Give them a solution or resource to change
- Set an example that you care for this community
