to push down a functon key would it be

KeyDown(alt,byte); ?

keyDown(tab,byte);?

You could use SendKeysVB or KeyDown..

I'll post what i know:

SendKeysVB

SendKeysVB('+', true);  - SHIFT
SendKeysVB('~', true); - ENTER
SendKeysVB('^', true); - CONTROL

KeyDown:

KeyDown(VK_Shift) - SHIFT
KeyDown(VK_Control) - CONTROL
KeyDown(VK_Alt) - ALT

Make sure after KeyDown you put, KeyUp(…) ;)

edit how do u find out the code for the key

how do u find out '+' is shift?

i need to know the code for alt or would it be 'VK_Alt'

I think it's, VK_ALT.

And i use to have a site for SendKeysVB, but i lost it when i wiped my computer ;)

ok 1 more question can u set a certain amount of time you want to hold the key down and to push down a key its KeyDown(key);

example KeyDown(a)

right?

KeyDown(getkeycode('a'));
Wait(1000);
KeyUp(getkeycode('a'));

Yes, I know this thread is ancient history, but I found another useful page… Note that the Alt key is not VK_ALT, it is VK_MENU.
