hopefully you going to be re-active again?

solarwind

No, not going to be active. I've a far more worthwhile hobby: http://solar-blogg.blogspot.com/ - yes, I had to resort to blogspot after I took down my server. But it isn't that bad :)

I will, however drop in time to time and hopefully answer some noob questions related to programming/computers as we were all noobs at one point. All of us.

Nice to see that the community is still up. May it live long and healthy.

I remember you going nuts about trying to get the best grades possible 1-2 years ago to get something special, maybe a scholarship or something? Dunno but that's what I was referring to

'solarwind has a little shameless behaviour in the past'

Truly, golden words.

Give solar some damn credit he's changed this forum is so many different ways and he has made a bigger impact on SRL than most of the current 'developers' have… I believe if it weren't for solar you wouldn't have reflection or SMART or (EVEN RSBOT for that matter) right now and thanks to Solar we are all more experienced intelligent people not just for the forums but for all of our lifes to come.

Solar's bad reputation points are all the after math of a few obstacles and arguments that took place a long time ago that helped make SRL what it is today.

Reputation is in the eye of beholder, and right now I see Solar as a visionary that deserves more props than anyone at this thread does and never received anything other than ridicule for his once unorthodox methods.

I think we all owe our thanks to Solarwind for making such a big impact on all us, don't you?

After all we've been through?:sasmokin:

I think you're giving him too much credit here. Sure, he helped to develop KYAB, but from what I've heard, it was mainly Ben's working and idea first. I don't know where you got the idea that he had a hand in RSBot either, but I can't see how that's true.

You obviously know very little about the origins of all this, Solar was the first person to actually introduce a working connection between reflection and SCAR was jump sparked the concept which was carried on over at KYAB who which some of the makers of xKYAB went on to make RSbot and well sure BenLand helped out a lot but if it weren't for solar I don't any of that would of ever happened (yes that includes SMART being made and reflection added as well as the creation of RSbot all of which would of never taken place) to be honest because no one else really felt like arguing the stubborn ways of the past and destroying their meaningless reputation for the greater good of everyone.

Solar truly has impacted us all more than anyone realizes.

Method, I admire your research but there you overlook that I was and others were actually around during the early stages of development of SCAR 2.03+ and KYAB and the actual events that took place leading up to the creations of anything external attaching to SCAR period, the production of KYAB was an original concept of solars that would of failed without Benlands help but lets not overlook the person that oversaw the longitude and reputation.

If you really feel like researching this further I can link you to a couple of important threads that took place a while back.

Sure, I'd love to see how these things began. It's an interesting topic.

On a side note about RSBot, isn't it based off of Ares? If so, what part did solarwind have in that development, if any?

":/" Indeed. Of course, there have been multiple views that people have been taking on the subject and we have had such arguments in the past that have ultimately got us nowhere. Myself, I honestly do not care of many of the opinions that people here have formed on me, but one thing is for certain: The good thing now is that it's nice to see that the SRL community has opened up its eyes and has accepted more intrusive means such as reflection to achieve your ultimate goal of cheating in RS. It doesn't matter who worked on what or who did what, the idea is that we have the knowledge and ability to do it and that the people that you guys trust are leading the pack with this knowledge and ability. Glad to see that everything is progressing well.

And thank you IceFire for the compliment and support.

Yes it is an interesting topic but lets not let it continue here, if you wish to discuss it create a new thread regarding the stages of SRL or something… poor Solar's threads always turn into these discussions. I guess my main point is I just wanted to get across the point that Solarwind has had a bigger impact on us than pretty much anyone realizes and he really does deserve better than this, that's all.

IceFire908,

I've been with SMART from it's very beginnings, and kept contact with BenLand100 about it all the time. The fact that is contained reflection was merely because BenLand100 wanted to see if he could add it to SMART.

The initial purpose of SMART was just to create a minimizable bot, that could be used from any program that can read DLL's. Later on BenLand100 added reflection, after the release of version 1 to the public, as you darn well know.

I don't want you to see this as an attack on solar, but more on what you have been saying.
It is simply untrue.

Welcome back, solarwind. Your words are much wiser now…
