SRL Archive - News and General

This is the third time I paid SRL. It will be the last, because Wizz and I decided to take over hosting of SRL-forums. We are currently in the process of renting a 100/100 2000GB/month dedicated server connected to NL's first Cable Company. Money is paid, just needs to be activated.

Expect the transfer somewhere in the coming weeks.

We owe Dankness a lot for hosting SRL. He has paid over $1200 dollars over the last two years. I hope to be able to provide a solid hosting for the years to come. This server will of course also be used for our own private or public internet activities.

Thanks Dankness for covering us for so long!

the first seconds… i just said oh well srl down again, k i can live with it…

after 10 minutes - omg its so boring without srl… :p lol… srl is a piece of my home, and its hard to live without it.

A few month ago the lease was running out and Wizzup? was going to rebuy it.

Dankness should just turn up and say 'Thanks to all ma homies out there!' or something :o

So are Wizzy and WT moving the site to their own servers? Or changing to a different host that they can mantain.

And with the Supporters. If you advertised what supporters got, they might be more inclined to pay for the site's upkeep.

Finally ;p, good news about srl, but yeah Dankness kept the site running he needs to at least be thanked and given recognition in some way, as im sure many members don't have a clue who he is. I'll try and get around to donating, this forum's pretty important to me too, problem is my mum'll probably think it's a waste, no matter how i explain it to her ;).

Good news if you care : as my parents are looking to sell some stuff here at home, they are making me a paypal account and 70% of the cash from what I sell on ebay goes to me (my parents asked me to take care about it), I will donate 50% of my revenues ;).

I didn't actually buy it, WT-Fakawi did.
We are keeping vBulletin for the forums.
I cannot promise the site will be exactly the same, the current vBulletin has been heavily modded by Dankness, but I can promise that it will be actively developed. ;)
We will start of with the forums + frontpage - that shouldn't be much of a problem.
Then the wiki, that shouldn't be too hard either, I hope.

SRL-Stats might get a rewrite.
The Bug-Tracker will either be disposed of, or must be used more often.

I say get rid of iSpy too. And get ridof the similar threads and add 'users viewing' again :P

Or have Pay-For-SRL scripts. Get LOYAL people who WILL work as an organized team to make a series of scripts. Profits from the scripts go to keeping SRL alive? I would sign up to be honest.
