SRL Archive - Outdated Tutorials

First, make sure you have SCAR 3.15 by downloading it at http://freddy1990.com/scar.php .

Next, download Subversion by Tigris at http://subversion.tigris.org/files/documents/15/39559/svn-1.4.5-setup.exe .

Before running the installation for SCAR 3.15, right click SCAR315bSetup.exe and click Run as Administrator. If it asks for a password, and you don't know it, you're screwed. Else, allow it to access your computer.

Once it's installed, right click svn-1.4.5-setup.exe wherever you saved it, and click Run as Administrator. Same rules as above apply.

Once Subversion is installed, go to your desktop and right click SCAR 3.15. Click Run as Administrator. Once it is open, go to Tools -> Options… -> SRL Download, then highlight Subversion Repository. Then click checkout. Once the download is complete, hit ok.

Now, on the desktop right click SCAR 3.15. Click Properties…Then move to the Compatibility tab. At the bottom, select Run this program as Administrator. Then, hit ok!

Congratulations! You have very quickly installed SCAR/SRL on Vista :)

:p if only I had this before.. and also, you have to run as administrator for some scripts.. (if they access files/internet I think?)

99_, I just added a part that removes the need to right click and select Run as Administrator for scripts after it's all done :)

Great guide, like was said above, wish this was out when I was going rage at my house with my new computer and vista. Anyways, I think you might mention to not save in program files? I think that was a problem for some people.

When you download subversion, just make sure not to save it in program files.

Unless you mean XP Office, which is almost Vista. But less gay.

I've downloaded the newest scar file (3.22) multiple times, everytime it says that the file can't be found at the given address. It seems that once I download/save it, it moves. This is before the actuall installation. Subversion went through and downloaded fine. Its just the actuall scar that's giving me trouble… can anyone help me out here?
