Society is a Pathological Killer

So I have had a lot of questions lately and have asked them of some people I trusted…. These are the most common responses i have received.

1. They get angry at you because they somehow think that your questions are in some way an insult to them when they have nothing to do with them in the slightest way

2. Completely side steps the question and tells you to "Stay strong" without any advice or anything other than those two words (Like that helps)

3. Like the others ignores the questions and tells some other people who send a "Youth Suicide Prevention Specialist" to come and talk to you

But are the questions really that crazy? I don't think so, I think people are just too afraid of the fact that they might have to do some real thinking and that they might discover something they haven't before.

It's not that they are difficult questions, its just society has labeled anyone who questions the basis of humanity as mentally unfit and that people who ask these questions and later commit suicide, they say it is the questions that made them commit suicide. No what i think it is, is the sheer frustration of everyone playing hot potato and not willing to even attempt to think about the question or attempt to answer it. They just label them as crazy and shove them off to the side. Our society is messed up.

Its been the same throughout history… Well why does _______ happen? What makes up ______? What does _______ mean?… If you question the "safe" way of living and what people are used to you will be labeled as mentally unfit. Like back when they thought the earth was flat, they killed the guy who said "Well, what is its not flat" They labeled him as mentally unfit and a heretic and they killed him. Now who is really mentally unfit, the man who was brave enough to question to "safe way" or the people killing him? Its the same way today but with deeper more complex questions and society isn't directly killing them, they are just adding pressure and pressure and discrediting them and more pressure and more drugs which make more problems with cause more pressure and so on until the person just snaps and ends it all them self.

Society is a killer.

I know what you mean.

I am going to put some serious thought into this and give you a proper response tomorrow!

I like the way you think Hobbit.

I often think like that too, when im just sitting alone in my room listening to music or something.

It will never change. People are afraid of the truth. Afraid to challenge them selves or Expand there knowledge and learn things.

I think of our society as a poorly programmed computer (Windows Vista ;)). It will never change. It will always suck.

There are simply not enough curious minds to change it.

Sometimes people simply can't put things in a good perspective. Usually because they don't have enough life experience, or something so painful occurs that they can't move on.

Some things that seemed very important 5 years ago seem extremely unimportant today. Other things that I never thought about 5 years ago are now a daily concern. That's how life is.

Sometimes people can't tell you an answer because no objective answer exists. Only subjective answers exist, and every person might have a different answer to the same question. It gets back to people's motives, goals, aspirations, and beliefs.

Something that may seem very important to one person may seem very trivial to another, because each person has different motives, goals, aspirations, and beliefs.

I think the answer to some questions about society and existence can't be answered by looking outward, only by looking inward.

The thing about motives, goals, aspirations, and beliefs is that they can and do change. They often follow a similar trajectory for people, from children to students to young workers/parenthood to middle aged people, and on and on. Every transition forces you to change, for better or worse. And when you change, a lot of your perceptions of life and society change as well. So yes, sometimes there simply is no answer today, or all the answers seem absurd. But that doesn't mean it will always be so.

But I have been asking them in the way of getting their point of view to see, oh maybe they saw a point I didn't, not thinking that their thought will solve my own. It just more information for me to consider. That doesn't change the fact that most people are so afraid to ask themselves these questions, and the ones who do and later ask them outwardly are labeled as crazy and a hazard to themselves.
