Well, im posting this new thread because I want to hear what you think of…Hacking Runescape.com like compleat over throw of the website. Now, Ive seen Some pretty awsome stuff here and you guys seen pretty smart…Is this possible???
If its not, could we try to crash the server by getting as many people to loggon at the same time?
(I do Realize the Jagex must have 100+ ports to control the amount of hits it gets every day)

Not at SRL its not possible.

If you read that actually SRL rules then you will see in there it says that we do anything illegal or use java or anything to pretty much do what you were just asking about.

This is highly improbable. Lots of people logging on at one time will not help as they already have that going.
Also, crashing the servers would be pointless because if we did that we couldn't auto or play.
There is also more than 1 server you realize that right?

And your image shows x because you are pointing to a .shtml document in an img tag.

If someone hacked RuneScape (which I doubt) I'm pretty sure they'd delete the player DB's and backups. And we don't want that to happen.

Jagex can handle 500k user at the same time…. if you wanna ddos, your best chance is the forum (which is availble only to p2p and p mods)….

if you really wanna do something… talk to people at mopar.

I don't think any RS cheating community has skilled enough people to pull that off to be honest.

Pretty sure if anyone got access to the server they host the website on, they wouldn't have access to the player files, nor the backups. I also doubt JaGeX to be stupid enough to not have security precautions or external servers holding backups for the site and contents at regular intervals.

Even if they did, they wouldn't be dumb enough to hack into a server. Jagex makes a lot of money, it would be in their best interest to have protection.

Conversations like these fucking irritate me, no-one of us is a hacker, some of you keen Jrs that own some haxbawts tell me

a) How would you "hack" into Jagex, what is your understanding of hacking them?

b) What would you look for? It for sure isn't a god damn list of folders - "Ban list", "pmods", "player stats and geepees".

Phishing credit card information is a way, way different thing than taking down runescape.com (or any website, really)…

Hacking = prison time. Dr. D. kinda alluded to it, I'm stating it. Hackers are now considered terrorists. If you get caught you will be punished severely. Jagex probably has many high power lawyers that will see you put behind bars for a long time.

Hacking RuneScape simply would not be worth the consequences.
