I've noticed that none of the threads that are old ever get closed. Wouldn't it be a good idea to have something that automatically closed the thread after it was inactive for 3 months? It would stop all gravedigs that the mods just have to end up deleting anyway.
I would also be nice if there was a character minimum for posts. Something like 10.

I think that's a pretty good idea, I like the minimum character thing, should stop some spam maybe, but doubt it, people will just post 10/11+ characters to spam. But to have something auto-lock threads after certain period of time seems like good idea though. Maybe someone should take a look at this thread. I don't know much about web hosting so I don't know if it's possible but I'm sure it is, sounds possible.

what about tuts… just make it so that section doesn't have the automatically delete…
No… the threads wouldn't be deleted. They would just be closed. I understand the importance of keeping the old threads. It helps sometimes to learn the old-school stuff.
The general dump stuff could be cleared out though.

But not all gravedigs are bad, are they? Also, I believe the character minimum is already there.

I guess you're right.. But if we would activate it again (I'm almost certain it has been there), would it help? I mean, how many people make a 1-character post? And if they do, is it certain spam?

no character block methinks, however, the closure of threads seems like a good idea ofc, you could always just pm a mod or something if you need a thread opened.

Closing threads after a certain amount of time is silly. Then you'd have people bumping their topics before they get closed, or people pming the admins to unlock stuff. It would ultimately do the opposite of what its meant to do by making more work for the admins/mods.
