Hey, my dad just went to turn on his Xbox, and we get the merry signal of 3 red lights. Bit of research, and aparrently some solders have come loose. No more CoD:WaW for a while. At least the hard-drive didn't blow up, but I wouldn't have been suprised if it did. Thanks a lot, Microcrap, you've made my day.

EDIT: Even worse, the 3 red lights aren't flashing. Maybe the LED lights got hardware failure, too.

Your xbox broke, that's a shame. But everything will break someday, don't be to hard for Microsoft ;)

360 still stays the best console IMO, backed up by many, many people.
There are some nice videos on YouTube that explains how to fix RRoDs step-by-step, you might want to look there if you haven't already..

But, I don't understand one thing – why do people use the word gay as a really negative word? (Supposing it has nothing to do with homophobia, but rather that you're following a trend by using a common "curseword"..)

I agree, 360 is the best console, but couldn't microsoft just manufacture it a little bit better? That would fix them all. Sorry to anyone offended by gay or crap.

Which LED light isn't on? The top right or another one? If it's the top right there has been a serious hardware failure and you can send it into Microsoft for a free repair.

i thought microsoft replace em for free if they break or something y dont u just get it replaces anyways im not a fan of xbox 360 like ps3 better

I agree. It is just annoying. Can not anyone think of something else to describe something that they dislike? Saying something is gay would actually be a compliment; it would be saying it was happy, or gleeful.

And BP, have fun sending it into Microsoft and waiting 6 months to get it back.

Homosexuality isn't a bad thing.

6 months? You're seriously joking. My friend got RRoD and had it repaired in less than a week. No joke here.

I have nothing against XBOX, and it does have some good games, but what baffles me is that they break down and scratch discs all the time during normal operation, and yet XBOX owners seem to accept it as if it is meant to happen?

A $300 computer product should not just stop working if you're using it as it was intended, much less a console that you don't mess around with…

Since people have a problem with the term 'gayest' in the title, I considered changing it. But I couldn't decide what to change it to.

I couldn't decide, so I left it as it was.

they said that they might have managed to fix it in the latest xbox's because they have changed the graphics chip so it doesnt get soo hot

Xbox's generally get the RROD from over use, or you don't look after it, e.g. leave it lying around on the floor. Be like me and give your's a little shrine :)

And if you have a warranty (which lasts 3 years) then you'll be fine, and if your warranty expired then you shouldn't be suprised that its depriciating after 3 years.

Have you ever played a Nintendo 64? You can throw it at people while playing a game and it won't care.

I'm actually concerned about how people just accept the miserable quality that Microsoft gives. The original 360s had a 1 in 2 failure rate, and when the Elites came out they were still 3 in 25, a year after launch. No console has ever come far enough to have the failure scale resized so that it could fit like that.

Two of my friends had this happen and it took them both about 3 or 4 months to get them back from Microsoft.

Also, I don't think gay really has anything to do with homosexuals any more when used in this way, just like when you say "damn you" to someone you're not actually signifying that they should be sent to hell.

Well it depends what country you are in… I know in Canada it only took 2 weeks for me to get new one… Yes… a new one, not fixed but new :p So mine got upgraded

The US are always fixed though i believe…

But it really doesn't take that long
