sandstorm / hey and iroki have returned from a permanent ban. were they IP banned? Was it just the account that was deleted?

if it was an IP ban, is there any better way to ban someone?

IP bans mean they come back with a proxy and it's much harder to keep tabs on them (I've only caught two people that have used proxies).

Assuming the fishy story is decided to be false, permban and if he tries to come back, never let into members.

I personally don't know if he can be trusted or not.
However; considering the following:

• He seems to be a pretty active Member here.
• He's a nice guy at SRL. He doesn't rage, flame. (He didn't even flame a little bit when everyone was yelling questions at him on IRC.)
• He has potential.
• Nothing was stolen from the account, as far as I know. So why would he have hacked it in the first place?

Having this in the back of my head, I think he should be punished.
Even if he did not steal the account. (He should be still be punished for not paying attention anyway.)

As I suggested in the conversation above, I think a two-week's ban fits nicely.
What do you guys think?

I've always wondered:

If you're banned on SRL, does it mean that you will be banned on IRC too?

But I'll agree on the tempban.

A ban is in order. The story is highly unlikely, He should have just fessed up and said he was curious.

My guess would be that he was curious to see if it was a real account or not (since he didn't take anything), but you really don't know what his intentions where. (the whole, Its a friend that rarely comes over, and the first thing he does is go to the SRL forums, find a someplace where the username was left in, and then logs into that players account. Yeah, sounds almost exactly like Hey321.)

I would almost say ban him till he at least fesses up to to the login, not giving us this unbelievable bs of a story. (boy, today's turning out to be a fun one, isn't it!)

Ask the guy if anything is stolen. If there is, long ban. If not 2 week for not paying attention, he will understand.
