We need another updated login now lol :p
They have a new message telling you whether or not your password is up to par (Difficulty wise).
From: Runescape.com
We have noticed that a relatively large number of our users are using the same few extremely common passwords.
Using an extremely common password puts your account at significant risk, as it makes it extremely easy for someone else to guess it. In particular certain dictionary words and names are extremely common choices.
To help keep our users safe we have therefore today disallowed the use of the 500 most common passwords that people choose. You will no longer be able to use these very common passwords. If you already have one of these weak passwords, then you will be forced to change your password when you next try to login to the game.
http://news.runescape.com/newsitem.ws?id=1611
does it pop up every time you login or just the 1 time?
EDT: yeah it only happens once to tell you if you have one of the 500 most common then change it.

Pretty much what Timer said noidea, but I used an advanced method to get atleast 20 tries before a block on my personal one and we was working on a no proxy version but hey wat the hell jagex murdered it. I freakin bought me a xbox 360 and 10 games with the money I made. All good things come to end I guess.

Hmmm I don't have to change mine :)
Haha Jagex says to use like completely random numbers. Their example of a good pass word was

Who the hell would remember that?

Mine's 14 letters.. Maybe I should use a 20 letter password again :)
Also, what's with this going around telling people to use better passwords but only accepting letters and numbers? It's almost as bad as Windows LM hashes…

What's all this talk about an RS account cracker? Perhaps I could run that keygen for you & get a copy? :)
I had my own private cracker that took advantage of the way my isp set up there network so it never needed proxies.
And it basically works by posting variables to the login page, and then checking if "Logged in as" was in the html string.
It was a heavily modded cracker based on theRsMonkey's original 1.4 cracker.

I want that list of passwords that they got rid of now, I'd love to be able to crack the rs account Widget since I doubt anyone's used it since RSC.
Some of the olden account names like Pwn would probably be worth a lot too and make great competition prizes :D

There are only million crackers floating around that do that :p
Keep in mind people that we aren't a "hacking" community, setting stolen goods for prize won't work :)
