Hi,
After the downtime of SRL-Forums recently, I thought that we should have a new donation system with in-game RuneScape items.
The trade system would be ENTIRELY managed by Administrators.
For example :
We "donate" 2K Essence.
The administrators post a new offer in the section they would've done recently about 2K Essence at ~4.99 $…
The buyers would have to go FIRST in all situations (prevention of scams) and
would use PayPal…
I thought of this since many of us cannot donate due to lack of funds or parents unwilling to get a paypal account.
This could be an alternative donating way, which would, however need some time…

Seems like a good idea, but could almost be more trouble than its worth. The Admins are already super busy, that would only add on to it. Maybe if they wanted to appoint that new job to a few certain people or something? But then again at the same time, it seems to be more of a BlackMarket activity than something that would happen on SRL. Not a bad idea tho!

The rules have always been "No RL cash trades at SRL", and I have no reason to think that it will change in near future.

Lol its not that bad of an idea. I dont see why you dont just get a paypal. And go sell them somewhere else. Then come back here and donate.
AFAIK you dont need your parents looking over your shoulder to signup to paypal.

No, it is not a bad idea. It's like Markus said, it is not in line with SRL's philosophy. We have never delt with money (and we never will) and because of that we avoided a hell of a lot of trouble. As long as I can pay for the forums, I will do so.

Or why not set up a tutorial school over msn or something like that where people pay to learn how to script if they want one on one teaching?
Edit sythe has cost me like 200 dollars in scams!

Bad idea IMO. For one, RS items have no real value… I mean really, they don't. One day, they 1gp could be worth 0.0000000001 the next 0.00000000000000000001. It is like investing in an extremely volatile market with not guarantee of money recovery. Heck, What happens if the RS programmers find a way to completely kill large money/item trades. Then where would we be with some accounts having large amounts of RS items on them and no way to really sell them.
Donations directly through paypal is the best option currently (along with ad revenue).
