"Why not have a chain script!!!!!!!"
(Chain Script is on that goes person to person with each person adding somthing different)
i will post it somwhere and have all your names for credit to you guys/girls!!
BTW
(IT WILL BE AN AIRCRAFTER)
Pm me with the updated script
PLZ ONE AT A TIME!!! POST IF YOU ARE WORKING ON IT SO NOONE ELSE WILL

yes, so do i
i doubt it would even work in Members
Everyone is too protective of their work, thinking they've stumbled on a new, genius idea that they don't want to expose. They make a script with faults, and strengths, and because people don't work together - it never gets perfect (unless of course the scripter is pwnage), which is a small amount.
If SRL worked together for once, the scripts could tear RS apart

I actually find this to be a good idea  this way we could make "The Ultimate Script", which could have multiple choices for different skills…
Not only an AirCrafter you know :p.
I support 100% :)
I'll soon edit this post with some antiban stuff :p
EDIT :
Added SRLPlayerForm, some antiban…

agreed. Besides, most people arent at the same level as eachother, and if there is one weak link in the chain (as in poorly scripted area's) the whole script is messed up.

So the more experienced scripters can go through, find who did what, show them what they did wrong, and everyone learns?
The new people have ideas; the older people have experience. Perfect combination, no?

In that case then, for this project, everything should be organised before any scripting starts
Which i would LOVE, but can't really see happening

Yea, your probably right, but hey, it
IS a feasible idea, if someone organizes it. I'm fine helping with it if anyone wants to start one.
Here's something along the lines of what I was thinking:
For every beginner, we find an experienced scripter. It'll go both ways, the beginner teachs the experienced scripter, while the experienced scripter teachs the beginner.
Not sure how to explain it better lol :/.

Well if we wer to get it oganized…. It shoud be a Multi-Skill Script
so if start Spitballing on what it should be and ill try to "Set it up"
(idea)–
make a list of palyers from 1-w/e
and they will edit the script in turn
so…… PM me if you ar interested

I smell pure leeching.
If a beginner worked with an advanced scripter (say Junior Member with a SRL Full Member) it would have to be a Junior Member script that would be accessed by everyone. Now with that, it comes the small requirements for SRL Junior Member. Then you get full of 10 poster leechers who whine about non-working scripts, don't post proggy's, or even communicate with the community.

Yes, but the point of this wouldn't be to make a script and get feedback, per se, it would be to teach, and to learn.
Also, I'm free to help someone learn if they'd like. Shoot me a pm. My only requirement is that your not impatient like some of my friends ^.^.

IMHO, I think we should structure it like this:
Okay. So, we're making an Air Crafting script? Yes.
What functions/procedures should there be?
Declare players
OpenBank
WalkToAltar
OpenAltar
CraftRunesAndGetOut
WalkToBank
MainLoop
AntiRandoms
Antiban
Now, we're getting somewhere. Choose a function or procedure that you want to do and nobody else is doing, then make a post about it.
Of course, Mainloop must be done last.

The only way this would work is if one person makes the script and lots of people send him various functions and procedures ideas bitmaps DTMS techniques DDTMs colors process intel ect… for ONE person to process and collaborate everything being handed to him. Almost any other way is to messy and involves to much impossible carefulness that can't be handled by more the than the mind of one person to assemble and organize everything into a final working product.
If only I had more free time I'd help.. sorry… maybe this summer.
Anyone else up for it?

I would really love to put this together but i am busy on my own script atm, maybe I can start next week. Ill get some suggestions as to what to make, make a poll. Whatever wins I will break it down into different types of functions needed, and what the functions need in them. I think it would work pretty well.
We could just get some scripters that we know are good to work on it..
only send to people that are allowed to see it, until finished at least..
each part shows who edited it and fixed and such.. we could do this easily, but everyone on forum = no.

That doesn't qualify…
I know people on this forum that have created multi-scripts 5K lines + longs by them self scripted entirely.. not knowing how to script to organize a mass project is like electing a mentally retarded child for president.
You
must be a scripter and a
very good *experienced one at that.

Agreed. If we're going to get this to work, we need an experienced scripter to organize it all. I guess I could organize it if you want, I'm no amazing, but I can put it all together.

This could be a great scripting project if it is properly organized though. To make this script, we should come up with a method in which we hope to accomplish the task. Here is my outline:
First decide for sure, and have everyone agree on what function the script will serve, (Aircrafter(?) was mentioned).
Second we should come up with a list of procedures/functions, and again, have everyone agree.
Third we should decide what we want each procedure to accomplish, this step could plausibly we rolled into the second step.
Fourth we should divide up procedures/functions between the trusted scripters, I think so at least; and "give" the script to each scripter, one at a time. Comments will be invaluable.
Fifth we have the project leader/head script integrate all of them, this will be a big job I think…
Six we have a beta script posted, and everyone reviews it.
Personally I think that this process would waste a lot of time, since all this organizing is necessary, (and yes, it is necessary). It might prove to be an excellent/top notch script producing method though. Alternatively we could have a group of semi-beginner scripters, and this would be a learning process for them. They wouldn't have to research too much, and would know what they have to do since they are handed a procedure/function or two to do. Then they would feel like they are a part of something, and would hopefully get into it, and review the script/learn where to begin and where go when scripting.
Either way, final decisions of processes/how things are supposed to be done are critical. We could alter things minorly as we go, but everyone should be in agreement, or at least the vast majority should, so we don't inevitably end up moving backwards.
Just my 2 cents.
~Macros
EDIT: Also, we should agree on a leader/leaders. (Maybe head organizer, head scripter etc). This way people know who to talk to. We should also get a list of everyone who is going to help, so people don't come in during the middle of it and bring us back to stage 1.

not the same as MSI either, first guy was talking about 1 script that has each procedure or function written by a different person in a sense.. MSI is much different, I think the MSI we have now is a different MSI than the one they "had in members" too
