Sorry if this is a real noob question, but better safe than sorry!
I noticed that when using SMART it has a red dot as a mouse, while leaving my normal cursor to roam at my will, is this the same as silentmouse? Should I disable this somehow or is it fine?

It's fine, it's the way it's suppoused to work.
