Well m title explains everything i am wandering witch 1 2 buy 4 or world at war so help would be much apriciated

I'd say Call of Duty 4 is the better game, but it's really up to you. The myriad of problems in World at War (overpowered vehicles, terrible spawn points, weapon choice) make Call of Duty 4 a much better play, in my opinion.

A lot of my friends are of the opposite opinion, though, so I'd suggest trying each out before you make a final decision.

Yup COD4, because they did something out of the box. It wasn't WWII or WWI related ;)

Uhh I would have to go with World at War, I never get a lot of chances to play online, but I really like the campaign for the new one. I just got the game and its pretty insane!

I would say that Call of Duty 4 had pretty good singleplayerness… but World at war had greater multilayerness.

Just rent both. You can beat them easily in a couple of days.

But I'll always prefer COD4 just because it's future warfare instead of WWx

haven't played waw but it's by treyarch so it's probably pretty bad :\

COD 4 has a killer online, much better than waw, but waws campaign is pretty fun, so it's your call. BTW, you didn't spell which right :P

Cod4 mate much much better :) but cod 5 has much better attachmetns for weapons like the bipod but one thing bad is tanks man they are annoying but when u are inside one ouch PWNAGE :P hope i helped xD

I recommend COD4, but what i recommend over that is COD2. Its gamestyle is so much easier and the online is great. Its a very balanced and non-confusing game.

Call of Duty 4 i think is better. I think World at War is a bit boring and Depressing.

I woudnt say boring coz the single player is much much better than the one in cod4 pkus is co-op so is really fun :D

I'd still take counter strike over COD4 any day.

but if you asked me, COD4 is better than World at War.

COD4 all the way, I played WAW, and Treyarch just copied everything from Infinity Ward, and made it worse.

I'd have to say CoD4 is better because the story line was pretty detailed and the online's a blast. And what set this apart from WaW was that it was fairly original… unless you haven't already played the countless WWII games out there. Though Nazi zombies does sound fun but what about other zombie killing games? L4D & L4D2 anyone?

Why isn't this a poll? But I would go with COD4, just more fun than WWII and stuff, so many of those.

sorry, but 74nd7 blately did the for post count, I mean he's just done 3 posts, and also I can't wait for MW2 :), but Ian, Left 4 Dead sucked, I mean I played it hardcore for a weak, but it just got so boring.. and Left 4 Dead 2 will be basicly the same, just a few maps, I mean L4D wasn't released that long ago

Left 4 Dead is fun (in my mind) because it's so simple.. You just shoot and you kill something. Or you can do versus and lol at teams who fail hard, or play survival and just camp. :p (I only glitch survival.. ^^) L4D2 seems like it'll be a lot more complex, which might be a good addition.

There will be more specials, uncommon common, and different maps (Swamp is the only one I can remember, but I didn't sleep the past few nights.. blurry memory.. haha :)). I think it'll be worth it.

CoD 4> Cod WaW imo. waw has nazi zombies .. but I like playing 4 more.

By the way.. believe it or not, my lil brother just got to level 107 on Shi No Numa (Nazi zombies@waw) solo, with no glitching or cheating in any ways. He says he stopped it because it was really really getting boring after like 3 hours of play.

In my opinion, call of duty world at war. Just because it had the minigame called zombie mode, its really fun.

CoD4 ROCKS man I gotz both of 'em and I prefer CoD4 but I must say that I used to LOVE WaW and I done a swap with my bro and he really loves WaW, but CoD4 is so original and its online multiplayer is astounding. But really it is up to you, hire them both out then decide. P.S it is really fun to glitch just to kill other glitchers LOL

Well. Here's how I chose. I was at Gamestop and I said to myself. What sounds better?
Modern Warfare v. World at War? I figured since they were both CoD games they would be similar. So I went with a World at War. I didn't care that it was WWII. Actually I kind of do. Crude weapons in a time when the ENTIRE WORLD WAS AT WAR!!! Sounds fun. So I got a big bonus with Nazi Zombies. I love it. I kill Nazi's in campaign. So they die. Then I kill 'em again in Zombie mode. So I can say I killed each Nazi twice.

BTW I play this zombies daily. I bought every map pack the of or after it came out. I just can't stand to play with the f2p. Alot of them are little kids cussin too much. It's just not cool. I always play p2p. You get the people who are actually serious enough players to buy the maps.

hmm i never played cod4 n i really like cod:Waw…the graphics of cod4 sucks compared to WaW and im 10th prestige on it so u know i really like that game!

Call fd duty 4 is better if you like fast-paced well made games ;)
World at war is better if you like slow games with crappy guns (unless you can afford to waste money on zombie stuff, then WaW pwnz)

I have world at war, all i play is zombies. Its so much fun xD but yeah this is how it goes zombies > cod4 > cod5

cod5 sucks alone without the zombie level :P

I love COD4 tbh, i'd go with that over anything anyday :)

COD5 uses COD4's gaming engine and they made one of the most glitchest and worst game ever tbh, really cannot play that game, its epicly fail.

On the other hand Infinity Ward wins hands down with COD4.

Sure, the enemies throw a couple grenades too many on veteran, but other than that it's awesome.

Come on, guys. Play CoD5 a bit longer than two hours and actually give it a chance before you say it sucks.

I like CoD4 because it's different, there aren't very many modern FPS games out there that are good.

I played up until level 65 on World at War's multiplayer and still think it's not as good as Call of Duty 4's multiplayer. Perhaps Nazi Zombies is fun, but in the previous sentence I'm comparing the player versus player part of it.

I haven't completed the campaigns for either, so I can't comment on that.

If you really want something which has more non-stop action, get Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
Heck, Modern Warfare 2 is going to be out soon.

It's war on a modern time, and the plot is totally wicked.
The Online isn't that bad too, although CoD 5's Multiplayer is a little more fun, mainly because it can be darker.

For if you like Single Player, go for CoD 4. Really, it's awesome, and the plot is going to continue.

There's just something I like about CoD5's MP part that I just can't explain with words. CoD4MP seems so .. Squared and cut-to-the-chase-ish. You get sniped from the other side of the map by an M16, ect. It has so many 'bah'-moments.
I can't help getting the feeling of everything being so smooth and nice in 5.

Plus, I never get the satisfying feeling in 4 the same way I do in 5. Perhaps it's the maps, I don't know. Perhaps I haven't given it a proper chance (although I think I have), or maybe it's because I've never had a day where I've felt like I just epicly win everything, like I sometimes do in 5. (Not to brag or anything like that >_<)

Like the guy above me said, it might be the darker and more compact maps, which might allow everyone to get more kills, idk.

COD: Modern Warfare 2 ftw

Cod5 is pretty good, the spawn points aren't that bad really, I never thought about complaining about them. Honestly, MW2's spawn points are worse. The vehicles aren't bad, either, and they were removed from the gametypes where they were a complete nuisance (mainly hardcore modes and search and destroy). The weapons are also not too bad, but they're either overpowered or underpowered… Unless you're playing hardcore, then it's mainly one shot one kill, except for the PPSh-41.

But since MW2 just came out, you might as well get that. I do hate how you only get one C4, though… And one claymore.
