well, i would've done it myself, but i don't know how harsh we are being on bans atm.

first of all, he submitted 2 member apps with plagiarized scripts:

I'm all for permanently banning him, considering he's done it twice. Though I don't think that decision is left to me, plus I'm not entirely sure how the rules specifically work for plagiarizing a script.

Voted one month, that should teach him the lesson

Buying/selling = Temporary ban/infraction (Dealt with)
Doing nothing for the community = Nothing in itself
Higher rank for the scripts = leeching = Temporary ban
No desire to learn SCAR = Even more leeching = Temporary ban
Plagiarizing = Permanent ban.
Plagiarizing for the second time = Absolutely permanent ban.

I would be contradicting myself if I didn't vote for a permanent ban.

I'd like to correct you there.

Under the SRL Rules & Regulations, "Plagiarism" is listed under "Specific Offences resulting in infraction."

Has that rule been redefined somewhere?

I hardly think this is our decision. If he's done something that requires a ban, the admins will ban him. It's simply our job to learn SCAR and test scripts. Nothing else.

We're a community not a court guys, even though he broke the rules twice whats the point in giving him double the sentence? It was a minor thing anyway which wasted a bit of time but wasn't too much of a big deal really, and he's harmless as he wasn't even smart enough to remove credits and includes from the scripts he tried to use on his app. A one month ban is more than enough punishment and will get the message across to him, any longer is unneccessary.

It was a suggestion, doesn't mean it'll happen. Only Hobbit and I have said 2 months.

well, i don't see any of the admins taking any action in this, personally plagiariam is something that pisses me off a lot so i went ahead and gave him a 1 week ban (can't give more than that).

He's not smart enough for even the simplest deception. He has plagiarized 2 scripts.

A lousy, stealing leecher. What use do we have of him? And what message do you want to get across? Will he understand it? Will he act on it? With the intellect you described, I doubt he will.

Yep apart from the last one, remove "unlikely at best" lol. But put yourself in his shoes dude, a month is a long time to spend off a forum…more than enough for him to realise what we're trying to get across to him - not to plagiarize. But this conversation really is pointless lol, as neither of us have anything to back up whatever we're saying…its just our opinions. I guess all we can take from this conversation is that you're a pessimist, and I'm a pessimist who's been in a good mood the last couple of days :p
