Sorry to turn back on SRL but, anyone know tutorials for making iBot scripts? I just want to see how hard/easy it is to make scripts for them. I want to check out there Nexus Pro by contributing scripts. See if its good and worth it.

I'm not ditching SRL thought because once i get a new computer i'll start using SMART and Reflection =)

There really are no tutorials for iBot you just need to learn java then learn the components that iBot has available for you to use…

You could learn from other people's examples (scripts)…

You might even find someone to teach you but in this case I would do the following

1. Collect general knowledge about iBot
2. Collect general knowledge about the Java NeXus and iBot use
3. Collect lots of iBot scripts
4. Study them a lot
5. After trying as hard as you can ask people who may know the answer to your questions so you aren't just asking them random crap you could find out on your own. (if you catch my drift)

i heard that you need to know atleast the BASIC JAVA.

Nevermind, screw iBot, im sticking with SRL+SCAR. Although, Icefire i will learn some basic Java. (Java as in Web language or some gaming language like C++, or is C++ considered web langauge. I'm confuses…)

You're thinking of JavaScript, I think. Java as in the language Java. And C++ isn't a gaming language. No, C++ isn't considered a web language in any way.

C# can be used in… uh… some .NET thing (web thing, this is what you may have been thinking about). But do not learn #C – it is platform specific (THE WHOLE LANGUAGE) and is .NET.

Me too, even though RSBot involves client hacking (which is detectable from what I've heard) its way better than Ibot…

The best way in my opinion to script for both iBot and RSBot is to learn the basics of java and then learn from other people's scripts and also use the docs a lot.

To be honest the best way to auto is to use SMART reflection with traditional SCAR methods for fail safes..

Ice fire, SMART isn't working properly for me. So thats why i'm moving on and coming back later.

And any good links for learning basic Java. All i find is confusing guides that seems not to be for my level. Whcih is 1337 noob =3

If you got SRL membership then you should be able to learn basic java in a matter of days. Heck I was granted membership here, and it only took me a few days of skimming tuts and looking at others scripts to make a decent script myself. And actually a good idea is to just take peoples scripts and make them better, add little things here and there that you would like in a script or just make it more suitable for your use. So my advice is if you really wanna learn then stop wasting time posting in this thread asking how, and go over there and look at some scripts and make an actual script yourself. New people don't know it, but actually the best way to learn any computer language is to just go at it and try to make your own script using others as an example. You'll learn twice faster doing it hands on, then just reading tut after tut. Hope this bit of advice helps ;)

Mjordan, i read it. I don't even know a single thing the script just did. I thought it would look similar to scar but i was DEAD wrong! All i knew is what public class (Name) extends Script meant. I know instead of begin they use { and end is }… And a bunch of other basic stuff. I JUST can't understand them

just learn c++ for rsbot scripting and ibot

take alook at a ibot/rsbot script then google learn c++ there basicaly the same languge more so rsbot for c++

Wow, people in RSBot are so useless. You guys however, your like family =3 Well my progress in learning Java is great! I can compare it to SCAR. But it's still completely different.

Does anyone know a site with more specific details on Java like methods. I still don't understand what static does. I know lots like how global and local variables are set. (global is referred to field now) i know that some methods can return but voids can't. But i need to know more and have specific details before moving on to RSBot.

It's wierd asking a group of people who hate (for most of you =p RSBot is our rival) but you like i said, your like family you help each other out. RSBot community doesn't even have tutorials! Just a "Skeleton portion of a script" and details on some of Java but it wasn't clear.

Try looking here to see if the actual Sun Java website can help you out. They have some tutorials that should help you in your learning.

Yea i did, was hopping for something different =3 i saw Sean's videos. They helped a little. I went to java cafe and bought myself coffee and learned some. Went to sun java aswell.
