Well think of it as the glass half full, it works flawlessly!
And you could do something like

WhatToSay = 'Buying Scimmy!';
WhatToSay2 = 'Buying Dagger!';

procedure Talk;
begin
  wait(1000)
  typesend(WhatToSay);
  Wait(500+Random(500)); // Waits 500 and another random number between 1 and 500.
  typesend(WhatToSay2);
end;

Also dont forget to put ; at the end of each line except when your doing stuff like:

if WhatToSay then // notice that there is no " ; "
Wait(1000);
