I may be the only person that clicks "New Post:(whatever the # is)" everytime I log in, but I seem to notice that tons of new accounts are spamming just to get their 10 post count. I suggest that they not be allowed to post for like 24 hours because all they do is say something like "Nice Script" or "Sweet it worked well…". How can they now if it is a nice script if they have like 3 posts… or how can they know that it worked well if they posted like four of the same kind of posts in a row(saying that the scripts worked good).

Sorry for freakin out but I had to say something becuz I am sick of all the SPAM… especially when I want to see if a script really is working or am trying to reply to someone that I have been talking to. When I joined SRL, I asked questions on threads and read a ton of tutorials! I knew about scripting before I even became a Junior Member, and I think that all "Registered Members" should…

There should be a flood interval of like 1 minute.

And I think the Junior Members should be raised to 30 or 40 posts and 2 weeks.

I don't know about the 30 or 40 posts thingy cuz then they would just gravedig every dumb tutorial and post something stupid like "thanks this helped alot i will try to remember that!"

Flood interval is already in existence.

No one will agree with me, but we should have an application to join Jr. Member, having 10-15 people reviewing them.

well i can tell that people are spamming when you click new posts and there are a ton of posts by the same person and you read a couple and they are all pointless spam…

Check the "Pass stealing SCAR scripts" thread or whatever. Last page ;)

Just remove the 10 post count bar and keep it as 1 week wait time, then they will still have to wait & hopefully will post some usefull things, I'd rather see a junior member with few but no spam posts over a junior member with plenty of posts but all spammed so he can download some scripts.

Also, some logical thinking - 9000 posts of spam > 10 posts of spam.

Just report all spammers, and the team will take care of it?

I like to reply to lots of things, I browse SRL on my free time and try to get as much of my opinion on things as I can :p.

Give a higher punishment for spam posts. Don't give them as many chances to stop spamming. Maybe it would be more effective to just make them stop by banning them. Or if they spam post they could get 1 week added on to their time left until JM for each spam post…that they post. That way when they post 10 spams they just have to wait for like 2.5 months.

Or, you could do what someone posted earlier and throw out entirely the post limit, and just make it a 1-2 week wait for jr. member.

I know its been a while since anyone posted on this, I just feel like posting my thoughts.

Personally I feel that you should have to prove yourself before you can become a junior member, sort of like becoming a member but not to that extent. For instance, Make them prove they have some knowledge about SCAR, SRL, and scripting in general. Make sure that they at least have the ability to contribute to the community. Make sure there going to stick around and be involved. Then whether you have to to apply to be a junior member as well as member, or admins/ members or who ever can just promote when they see fit. To me that seems like it would solve the SPAM problem pretty good.

I like that, it would keep the "nice script, will try" posts down on outdated scripts.

Alright, I've been nice but this shit is really starting to piss me off. People are posting in threads that are over 5+ months old just to get their post count up. Then they complain that it doesn't work. -.- I think that any thread over 2 months old should be locked or an option of being removed. People really need to start reading here on this forums, if the date says 2-26-06 DON'T FUCKING POST THERE! Is it really that hard? I think that a person should get 2 chances if they grave dig. The first one will be a severe warning, the second would be banned. I'm fucking tired of opening up the forums and seeing 100+ new posts on 50+ outdated material.

Another thing that is fucking annoying is the fact that when people post a whole new thread on a topic that has been answered or fixed. We try to help them by saying "Read the tuts", "Go here", or whatever else because we are tired of repeating it over and over. Then the person who posted the thread gets mad at us for not answering their question and pops an attitude. If you're not going to heed our advice then don't fucking ask for it. Simple as that. If you need me too, I can say it in dumb dumb terms.

That pretty much sums up my feelings towards spammers. Yes I have grave dug before, but at least it was totally on accident and when somebody told me I deleted my post… I still believe in my plan of adding difficulty to their obtaining of JRM if they spam. I've been seeing lots of spam recently and I'm very tired of it.

I mean seriously, the only thing Jr. Mem's is right now is for patient leechers. Make them earn the "nicer" scripts. I'm doing all I can to help people in here since I can't code that well.

make button to report jsut about spam. if you report any person.. admins or something should cheack "reported person" posts. .. and if in all of them is just spam no one usefull post.. to him give IP ban. sure he change IP later with proxy… but he got much more work for spaming.. proxying.. :)

People who spam can go to hell. I agree completely about the jr member application thing and I had another idea about it. I think that we should put up a poll that only jr. members + can see on the main page. The poll will say "do you think there should be jr. member applicantions?". And if we get enough votes to yes, then we should make it so. If no… then make it anyways lol.

Another thing is that im really pissed that there are people who joined way AFTER me, and their post counts are 4 times as high as mine lol.. (Mormonman) lol. Nah its ok because you dont make shit posts lol.
