Alright, so I have been doing some autoing on my main lately. Narcle Echo Fighter, went from (Monster name) to (Monster name) recently. Now, I have been autoing at regular hours (for my timezone), and when I wake up and go to school I turn it on, and I will just say I'm homeschooled. However, 3 days ago, I turned the auto on at night, while settings the breaks later, to get more exp, and I woke up that morning, 42 random boxes, 3 old men, and one of the dwarfs… When I had been autoing and logging every 5 mins or so, It was fine?
So then I thought nothing of it, started it for school the next day, went to school and came home… 32 boxes in inventory, I was in a molly random, the dwarf and old man had left coins, beer and kebab in inv, and more. I was in lumbridge where my ring of life had teleported me there?? Fighting (Monster name)?? I don't think so, a random did that too..

So I was thinking, do you think they set a timer when you log in, and if your flagged?

Example code

procedure Random;
begin
if LoginStart then
if Flagged then
RandomTimer := randomrange(bla, bla);
end;

etc? Discuss and I will auto again soon, since the account will prolly be banned soon, and just do it for 5 mins like he had it set and see.

You get randoms when you stay in one 'Loading Screen', a set of tiles. If you don't 'interact' with objects in RS, you don't get randoms. If you just walk all the time, you don't get any randoms. If you stay in one area for a long time, the chance on a random increases. Try it, just stay logged in for 10 minutes, click on a gametab every minute or so. Then interact with something… There's a big chance you'll get a random. :)

Well I mean I know that, but I mean with interacting of course. I interact with things alot when fighting so im talking about, wait that time then when they react. And the timer resets when you log out.

Hmm, interesting and it would make sense. However, it's too small of a sample size to really draw any conclusions. What's to say that your account wasn't flagged for normal reasons? (too much xp, too many hours played, detectable script etc) To really know whats going on this would have to be repeated numerous times.

i remember autofighting with fawki's old goblin fighter, which is an activity where you dont get many randoms

so when i would log into all my accounts again, i could say "hey people, look at me, i bet you a million pounds i will get a random", then I'd bury a bone, and it would almost always work.

True Claw, well have been autoing since I posted, only on random on the first time I logged in. hm.

I wonder if there is a "magical interaction count." Like once you hit that number of interaction (not including walking) that the next will generate a random? Just a thought.

I think it's more a "different" interaction which triggers it. Like yakman said, which I'm sure we've all noticed, you can run a chicken killer and get no randoms until you bury a bone - that holds true for almost everything in rs

Ok now I am thoroughly convinced that this is true. I have run the same macro with the same character everyday at least 10 hours since I posted this with the normal log time. Not even one random. then tonight I decide I will try again. Within 5 hours,

I don't think that's a coincidence.

And I never said that it happens on its own. I know its when you interact with something for exp. However, I think there might a be a timer so after X minutes of logging in, when you interact with something you get one.

This is why I always have it log-out before a certain time randomly. :p

Make a graph of random occurrences / time, you should be able to prove/disprove that hypothesis….

I had a function made to write time between randoms, but smart crashed and so did scar, and I just haven't gotten around to writing it again. It's not hard, just takes a bit of time because I have to go in and edit Narcle's randoms functions.
