I was thinking recently about what srl/scar really has got me in runescape. Did the good things outweigh the bad things? Or were they about even. I thought… of course it has got me a ton of stuff and made me better than all the other characters in runescape unfairly. But now that I think about it I really think if I kept playing legit I would have maybe been better than I am today. Here are the good and bad things that srl/scar have done for me.

The Good Things:
- an autoing army of 18 people almost all of which have 60+ mining and 40cb, not 1 BM (not to mention 3 rune picks per player… do the math, yes I was too lazy to go to dwarvern mines to repair them all the time so I figure i'd buy a ton of picks so I didn't have to make trips too often rofl.)

- An account with 99 strength (started at around 85, not banned)

- A ton of new, friendly, and mature people that I met in this community.

- A decent amount of scripting knowledge.

- A ton of knowledge about computers and real life in general from tutorials.

- Two decent pure accounts, one of which was a pro staker (won 50m+) but got banned due to an inappropriate name of all things :(

- made me stop liking rs skilling… this is definitely a pro for me because I now only like pking and that is all I will do, I am not sure why I skilled in the first place at all. Pking is the only fun thing really.

The Bad Things:
- My first main account banned (cb lv 110, with all my armies gp on it, hys fight caver) - no offense Hy, great script and I did it when autoing was insta ban, 10 BM's :( .

- A lot of wasted time trying to figure out how scar and srl works together… that was the worst experience tbh.

- In other games it got many of my accounts banned (all of which were my scripts so I blame all of this on me not being better.)

In the end scar and srl has been a rollercoaster for me. At one point I quit these forums and rs all together due to my main account being banned permanently without warning. I wanted to know how you felt about scar and srl and whether or not it has done you good or bad. Do you think you have got so many of your good accounts banned that it wasn't even worth it? Or do you believe this community has done you only good?

Good:
-Got friends here.
-Learned SCAR syntax.
-Have lots of fun.
-Good life experience.
-One 10 day ban.
Bad (This is autoing in general)
-Got my entire army banned (Using RSBot)
-Each one of those players have 400-500k on them


Thats my story :D

Good

- 4 Mini-Main characters
- 4 Pures-in-the-making
- A good community
- An interest in some programming

Bad
- Nothing (directly from SRL/SCAR)

However, the Bad from SRL/SCAR indirectly

- Scammed out of 16m (most of it not legit though) on Sp0rk-eh.com (Bought an account, he recovered it like 2 months later) + more because I had transferred stuff onto it

- Original legit Main banned for transferring from it to the account I had bought


But now I'm working on making some nice pures that I could trade to someone who I trust for a good main, so it should at least even out :D

Goods:
Use all the time. Very reliable, especially Narcle's Fighters and Wizzup?'s Ess Miner.

Bads:
Bans. 2 10 days. T.T

Good:
Have a high lvl army of various skills consisting of about 15+ accounts.
My main is 85 fletching and counting and gained various other lvls from SCAR.
Learned a hell of a lot about computers, scripting, and made a ton of friends from being around these communities.

Bad:
Nothing really. Only ever had about 3 accounts banned in around eh 2-3 years I'd say. One on Starblaster100's Stressminer. Then others I forgot, but those were a LONG time ago and they weren't important accounts.

So nothing really bad has ever happened to me, no bad bans etc.
The good definitely very much out-weighs the bad for me!

Good:
Learning to script in scar
Making good scripts and contributing to the scar communities are rewarding.

Bad:
Anything I've ever macroed/botted has been banned other than 34k shrimp and anchovies. Which I easily sold for mills when the grand exchange came out =D.

Good:
Pwnage Army, Awesome Main account (95 att, 97 str, 95 def, 99 hp, 99 range -> TY Narcle!) 5 Kick Ass PK-ers (1 of em wit 99 ranged -> TY again Narcle!) Great programming experience, and even caused me to Minor in CS ;)

Bad:
7 BM's on my main :p 4 BM's on my 99 ranged pker :p A buncha 10 day bans on serveral accounts… Other than that and a few sleepless nights (Also due to insomnia) from reading about SRL and SCAR, reading/editing/writing scripts… thats about it ;)

More Good than bad :)

uhmmm. only thing i can think of is i got a lot smarter being around such awesome people in this community. damnit, i hate being smarter. lol

scar\SRL FTWFE (for the win for ever)

Only good things.
Bad things are for people who actually play runescape.

Good:
-Meeting bunches of awesome people
-Made me quit RuneScape (Hey, the bots did the work for me anyway…)
-Got me into programming
-The community

Bad:
Nothing. Bad is for the weak.

I feel that i have learned alot from SCAR. Also, it helped me get my 99 ranger :)
SCAR has been good for me. Even tho a few of my acccounts got banned.

Although i'm new but it has done good things
- Get me away from actually playing rs :)
- Get to meet new people
- Help me learn how to write my own script( in the process of learning still)
- Much more

Good - I've had fun on the forums
- I've learned a lot

Bad
I actually still play runescape. SRL/SCAR was the only thing that brought me back from the unbalanced trade quit. I would never have come back without SRL

Pretty even but leaning towards the bad
…I don't auto very much (like 1-2 hours a month) so that really takes away from the good.

Still love it here though, just hate that i still play RS.

Good:
I have mined a shitload of essence haha

Bad:
none
except my account got hacked and lost everything i autoed :(

Good:
3 Decent Pures (with mining levels no less)
A main that is on its way to replace my old one (forgot password on my old one, and didn't remember any of the info)
Lots of other things that I've lost due to losing account info. Oh well :P

Bad:
A couple of bans here and there. Of course, all but one were me being stupid (mostly on purpose, but sometimes I actually screwed up. whoops). Only one was perm though.

Good:
- I get to focus on college and keep up on RS
- Faster leveling (because I get off task in RS lol)
- More money, everyone love more money!
Bad:
- More lazy lmao
- Electric bill goes up for leaving computer running a lot >.<

Got me a very good rs account.

got my main to almost 97 rc (my script :P) got 99 mage one perm ban (nooby def pure, thanks munk) and one 10 day ban that was on my main :P, that's just in rs,
i learned a type of programming/scripting/base for learning to program, met loads of ool people, and got myself of street corners :P

The good:

Many HEADACHES trying to get lots of stuff to work (lol).

A few too many hours spent on learning and trying stuff for what I have gotten out of it already, but this is more or less the beginning :D

im somewhere in the middle… i guess its been mostly good because ive gotten like 500k on my main but its also making me mad cause i cant script and im to dumb for all of the tuts :o

The Good
- Awesome community and scripts
- A pure that will own (Thanks Narcle)
- Got me to quit RS- I don't play cause SCAR does it all for me.
- 60 WC (Thanks to QuickMarch's awesome script)
- Haven't gotten banned yet… hope it doesn't come soon.
The Bad
