So basically i was surfing zybez community when i came across this post.

If you're too lazy to go there, i'll basically sum it up.
Since halloween update, Jagex made a new banner on front page.

Daytime:
Nighttime:
Notice the sky. I have not personally checked this out, if anybody could confirm it, that would be great.

Would we be able to figure out how to still auto if Runescape graphics were changing from nightime to daytime?

Why would they make two banners? One for daytime and one for nighttime. What's the point? :eek:

It may not be an upcoming update, It may never even happen at all.
Just trying to make you all aware.

I think but I'm just assuming that it would only have a mild effect…

It would only be like having two different colors for the items. I doubt it would change the size or shape of them. The Up Text would still be the same. Scripts would just have to be modified to be able to pick up one or the other… Or if the day night thing was on a time scedule they could build a timer into scar and so it would know if it was day or night thus allowing it to use the day or night colors.

Lol, if jagex actually did an update like this, it would take forever to fix.

I'm pretty sure the day and night times would be different for each world.

If this turned into an update, it would probably only affect high detail and we wouldn't care at all :)

what if it affected low detail too?

maybe it will be for HD so we wont have anything to worry bout

BUT… IF it did, we'd either only be able to auto 12/7 or all our scripts will twice as long… one for day colors and one for night colors?

Checked the site.. The "day" banner was up but just copied it's url and changed d to n (figured out d = day so n = night) and apparently there's a night one too.. Yay -.-, well, atleast they're real.

E: My opinion: they just made 2 banners that are swapped wether or not it's night in england or wherever jagex is from or it uses some more complex stuff to check what country you're from and the timezone based on that and blabla…

Anyways if I was just leisurely playing runescape day and night would be pretty cool especially pking at night!

reminds me of Zelda, remember the skeletons would come up from out of the ground? :p something like that would be kool if jageX every made day and night…

If Jagex will ever add daytime and nighttime I'm quite sure you will be able to turn it off in the Graphics Settings….

I dont think it will have much of a diffrence.
I play runescape day and night, and notice no difference.
I think the picture is just a picture. And even if they did make day and night don't think it will be very hard to overcome.

If all the colors in Runescape suddenly changed because it was nighttime, it would take quite a while to fix.

Color picking would be harder and more?

You know how you can change Shadows to Off, Static, and Dynamic in High Detail? Dynamic shadows take a bit of CPU but the "sun" will change positions. It would most likely be related to that if they implement it at all.

tb id welcome it :p new challenges, although it wouldn't be hard if it was different every world, freddy could make fawg find those out i'd imagine and it would only be a case of doing something like if systemtime>21.00 and stuff like tha, its not hard, but it'd double the length of scripts

yea it works 1-00% it was morning time when i saw this and the sky was light and now it is night time well 5:30am and it is dark :)

yes, a real graphical sky, like 90% of other games would be nice but we all know jagex likes to be 'different'. (sigh)

just wondering one thing, does reflection use colours? if not we could at least still use that while trying to find another solution.

Um…No

It is really easy to change the colors of objects they have it in almost every good script because the colors always change a little. All it would take would be new DTM's big deal an hour or so. I think you underestimate the resourcefulness and determination of the SRL community. Maybe if it was all dark it would be harder to find colors but that would only be if they were really really close to the same color and in that case real people would be completely lost. Look at how many colors SCAR can recognize. I know I can't even come close to a 100th of that. So if SCAR was shut down so would the legitimate people.

I hope not, some of the areas in Runescape are already dark enough as it is. However if they did implement it you have to think about how they'd go about doing it. If they used Dynamic Lighting then it would be High Detail only. But who says they can not just lower the brightness everywhere? There are probably other ways to but this is just what I came up with initially.

I guess all the colors would be slightly darker and then get slightly lighter so there's probably gonna be no harm right?

Its funny how they try so hard to stop us, in the end, we still win.

If this actually happens we'll just turn it to low detail,
Or if Nighttime/daytime affects even low detail the DEV's will own Jagex with another amazing update.
