That only works if you are autoing on the client. The trick is a different one.

Well I'm telling the members right now. Because I don't think its that great of a trick, nor convenient. :p

This is how you can use SMART: (tested myself and running it now)

1. Close all current SCARs.
2. Open a fresh one with the script.
3. Enter your info.
4. Push play.
5. When SMART pops up, immediately minimize it.

That's it! Just keep SMART minimized and it'll continue. [Creds to Hyper for mentioning it]

You could alternatively use CopyClientToBitmap, and debug it on the DebugImage of SCAR, just draw it every 5 seconds or so? (So you can actually keep track of what is happening)

eh or specific members get smart and idk a test in order to get..

SRL Members only, I'd say.

There's no reason to make it a members only thing, especially now that it is in the wild. It would be a good perk, but it would kill the reputation of SRL pretty quickly.

I think the way with the least confusion, mess, and unneeded posts is to wait until Ben has time to fix the canvas issue, and SRL has a SmartSetupEx that will work with new SMART and old scripts.

Exactly. The new SmartSetupEx is compatible with all previous scripts.

Don't start making weird functions just to run the current SMART. If you want to make your own that's fine, but don't post it up imo. Lets just wait until new Smart is out.

Is it really that big of an issue? It is still minimizable and isn't that the point of having SMART? Now it's just when you maximize it you have to restart SMART…but SMART is meant to be minimized, I don't maximize mine until I want to stop it or I know it's been stopped by SCAR Debug information.

Do this many people really sit and watch SCAR/SMART auto? Isn't the whole point of this is to minimize the window and let it do its thing while you aren't their? or have it minimized while doing something else on the computer…

It is nice to check up on it.

Just need a flawless script. Also I can't bloody test my scripts. I mainly wanted to get TTiles flawless, but RS update screwed that plan up for the moment. >.<

SRL needs something to bring people in. IMO SMART is one of the biggest things to do that as it is a VERY nice feature for autoing. Yes, it isn't required, but it makes things a whole lot easier in the long run.

People don't like it when they are given something and they have it taken away. If smart became members only there could be a fair amount of junior members, even long time junior members, that decide to leave.

And what would be the point? To have an exclusive club of people that can download a program? Why should the free tools available to all be just limited to some? Should we make SCAR members only as well (not that you could). Or should we release a non-members version of SRL that's not as good as the members version?

I don't think so. Membership means you can code well and that you contribute. There shouldn't be some coding prize given to members, it just creates a disconnect between members and jr members that really doesn't help the community out as a whole.

And for what? Less people posting because they can't get smart to work? If that's the case, then think of all the posts that would start to flood the boards when all available scripts that use smart don't work anymore.

Keep the availability the same imo. It's rediculous to give it to jrs and bellow, then take it away.

I have no problem with waiting a week or two until BenLand fixes it, and a new rev comes out.

Totally SRL Members. I think that SMART should have restrictions to junior members in the first place.

To be honest, there isn't a good motive to be a SRL Member.

Why keep it members only? BenLand100 will most likely have SMART completely fixed in not too long, so this will not be a benefit for SRL members for long anyways. If it does take him a while to fix it, I'm sure a junior member will eventually find this out.

I already knew this and thought everyone knew that you just had to minimize it right away, I guess this explains why everyone still thought/thinks SMART is broken…

My vote is to release it to juniors/everyone, I don't think there is a good enough reason to keep it "secret".

Why give a child a cookie, then say if he wants more he has to do a complex math problem (for his age) to time it right so his mom won't find out, when all he has to do is run fast.

But were not telling juniors that we have a fix, we are saying that they have to re-create SMART themselves if they want it, or at least that's how I see it.

This far, BenLand100 has not voted, so the person who worked to make it has not quite said that he wants something in return, other thanks and a job well done (he might though). It was HIS choice to release publicly, and I believe there was a greater reason behind it other than "he just felt like it". So you do not know if "the person who had to work for/bake" the cookie wants something in return, other than the a smile on the child's face, since it necessarily wasn't the careful mother who baked them.

The child will eventually find out that the math problem is actually quite simple when he goes to attempt it, then will not redo the math problem to make it safer & faster ;)

Its not telling juniors to recreate smart! Its saying that if you want the fix soon, you have to be a member. Its just one of those things that you get when you actually contribute to this community!

None of this matters. Ben doesn't care about any of this. He will fix it and give it to us. It'll be free no matter what.

And do you guys not have a brain at all, do you really think that the junior members don't already know. By now someone has already 'leaked' the "secret" in your guys terms. I've been here a LONG time, and one thing I know is that if we SRL members know/have something that we want kept to ourselves, then no matter what most of the junior members will know/have it also within a day or two. KYAB was a prime example.

Should set a Login System for SMART. So when running it checks ur script signature id . ( we make a a massive id database for SRL members ) . So if ur password and id is correct it loads smart.

Edit . People should earn the right to use SMART. So many people leech scripts with out even saying Thanx.

There's more than enough incentive already. And if youre getting into SRL members to get smart, youre doing it for the wrong reasons. Anyway, I think the staff's stance is clear on this matter - we chose to release it to everyone, didnt we? Besides, you're already an SRL Member. Why do you want incentive to become one when you already are one? Its bs, you just want to feel and act superior. Its pretty obvious.

i would say smart deserves to be with everyone i mean like there are more jr members that auto than members that auto so y not give it to everyone… i know that if i was a jr member and applied for membership with a script that i made from normal rs window and then got into members, i would hate seeing that the members already knew the secret to making smart work

And how would I like it if jr members stop posting proggies? They never do. Posting is contributing but is it enough to earn all of the hard work that BenLand has but into SMART? IMO, no. ITS JUST MY OPINION! Relax!

Also, a yellow name, avatar, and access to outdated scripts doesn't sound that great to most people! The only reason I wanted to be a member is because you know you can script once you get the rank. Most people don't have the same self motivation as I do.

Well this is a wonderful fix, but can you tell me why it won't login my account with Hy's Fight Caver?

Something just occurred to me - if there's a way to make windows stay "Always on top" in windows (I bet there are programs that do it), couldn't you just set SMART to always on top, then shove it to the side or bottom where it won't go in your way?

The problem is that the runescape client will switch canvases and SMART forgets where it should be looking because of it, so then the scripts have nothing to do since they can't see the screen.

I think it should be public. Leechers are honestly somewhat good for this place. I don't recall seeing nearly as many flames in the members section when I was accepted. I think SMART should either be Devs+ or free for everyone (*pokes Wizzup and/or Yakman to make a GPL one*)

i was thinking of doing that but my laptop has gone back to be repaired so im stuck on my shitty desktop which cant handle vista :(
but it handles xp with scar and smart very nicely

It only shows the last time you had it pulled up. Like it isn't an updated image everytime you hover your mouse over.

Maybe you have an older version of vista?

There are programs that can do this to. Search google for window previews in taskbar or something. Ive downloaded one before. for why I have no idea :D But just finding one u googled for will work

It does work if you keep it minimized.

Good thing is that it's not a mistake by Jagex, it's something that's built into the java api.

Hmmmm, I do think smarts avialability should be Jr. Members and above because they have at least contributed a little to the forum. :p

no, they could have spammed there way to 10 posts and srl needs leechers anyway, without them we'd die out, fast. We just don't like too many of them.

The "outsiders" abused SMART so in my opinion it should stay members only, and If it was up to me, it should have "login" thing, that you insert your SRL login infos in and it checks if youre a SRL member.
