HOBBITs inactivity and departure

Hobbit

2008-10-23 19:25:28

Hello all, I am taking this time to explain to you why I have been mainly inactive over the last 2 months and why I will be going away for while. I consider a lot of you very dear friends and like a second family so I think you all deserve and explanation.

Well to begin with, I am typing this now as I have just gotten home from an appointment with my family doctor. I have been seeing him a lot recently because of some problems. First off to begin with is I had developed bronchitis and pluracy(like pneumonia but on the outside on you lungs, in its linings). So I had a battle with that. The most recent appointment was to check up on that and to explain some more issues I've been having…
 • Sleepless nights
 • Slight Bi-Polar mood changes (Happy to Angry/Sad in short amount of time)
 • Lacking the ability to concentrate on anything
 • Lack of appetite
 • Lack of motivation
 • Feeling like the world is closing in around me
 • Anxiety
 • Etc
He feels that I may be developing bipolar mania or chronic depression. Depression has run in my family. My great grandmother had it, my grandfather, my mother, now possibly me.

He is sending me to some psychiatrists to do some mental health testing so see if I am developing and of above mentioned things. I am scheduled to go next week.

This is where my apology comes in. I feel like I owe many of you an apology for the way I have been acting. Over the summer many of you probably have noticed my attitude and personality changes. I noticed them to and I did not like them, but I could not control them. I give me sincerest apologies to anyone who I may have wrongfully lashed out at.
List of people off the top of my head:
 • WT-Fakawi
 • Wizzup?
 • Nielsie95
 • Starblaster100
 • Solarwind
 • IceFire908
 • Hy71194
 • The Claw
 • And everyone else.
I sincerely hope you all will forgive me.

I am deeply sorry to say this is where I say goodbye for awhile. I need to take a break and start cutting things out of my life and start prioritizing so I can get onto the road to recovery. I will not be gone forever, I can assure you that, I love this place and you all far far too much to leave you for good!

Please understand why I am leaving for a period of time.

If I get chances to be on MSN I will be happy to talk to you :)
Msn: Chris.Hobbs@hotmail.com
Just please don't expect me to be on often.

Thank you everyone for your support over the 2 and a half years I have been here and I am going to get myself better to come back and give back the support that has been given to me.

Any questions feel free to email me.

Cheers,
Hobbit :)

Edit: This is the longest post I have ever made :)

I'm sorry to see you go man.

I know what its like to deal with things like that, well not personally, but to live with someone with those conditions.

I wish you all the best, its the right decision. We will all miss you, and I personally hope you can move forward and get the correct medications you need.

All the best,

Nava2

P.S. You lashed out at me! :( Meanie. (Jokes, I understand why now)

Hey ya bud…

I deal with ALOT of that stuff you mentioned… if you ever want to talk, PM me or contact me via MSN. I'll PM you my other email that I check more frequently as well.

I've been there. Came close to killing myself more than once. I cannot stress enough how much I would like to help if I could.

Keep on keepin' on man, we're all in this together :)

Don't worry about it, the things you said were probably needed although a little harsh at times, but you pulled us all into line around here. :p

Sorry to hear about these problems, and I hope everything picks up for you. I really strongly suggest you smoke marijuana medicinally for these problems, because from what you listed it seems almost perfect…you're in canada too, eh? So you should be able to get it prescribed without much hassle.

Sorry to hear this man..

I know you probably don't know me very well.

But, you're one of the people I look up to on these forums :]

There's a slim few. And, it's only the people who have progressively been in the top 10 people here (scripters, educated people, etc.).

So. I hope you get better.

Stop in every once in a while just to say hey. :)

Good luck,

dallas, I sincerely mean this from the bottom of my heart.
Gtfo. That is completely uncalled for, and no one on these forums should appreciate this kind of nonsense.

Awwwww Hobbit. I can tell you, that you will be missed, by many people, including me. I like the name and avvy and your sense of humor when telling people off :p

Good luck with feeling better, and my best wishes go out to you.

From my personal experience, weed = anxiety attacks, paranoia, and increased depression!

However, some people find that it helps, but I am not one of those people. If your already feeling bad, especially bi-polar, don't! I've been dealing with my problems for a little over a year now, and have gotten so much better thanks to SSRIs etc.

Really, if your not secure in your emotions now, why add another unknown the the equation?

(Plus, BC Bud is strong. Careful :p)

Yeah bro just take it one day at a time.

Bi-polar is nothing funny at all.
I have it as well.
As well as depression running in the family.

Good for you for trying to stop it in its tracks. Im sure you will succeed.

Although i refuse to take medication because it was medication that killed my father years ago.

I wish you the best of luck and stay on track to the road of recovery.

Best wishes bud.

Zanex *I think thats how you spell it*
a ton of pain pills because he got injured at a mental hospital working as a patient restrainer. *The big guys that try to get them under control* The guy got a hold of a pipe, beat his lower back and his spine got messed up bad.
He was bipolar as well and took medication *Heavy*. Not to mention pain pills that would make a man rich with just one bottle. *He had at least 15-20 different prescriptions* Heart failure due to accidental overdose.

Which is why i dont take prescriptions or pills of any kind that effect your mental or physical ability. I learned to deal with it but its hard sometimes. Especially when driving. *I live in florida, theres alot of old people that go slow and alot of ***holes.* Lol.

Enough about me, this is hobbit we are talkin about :)

My whole family lives there, I live in Pennsylvania. I went to New Jersey last Monday for a funeral. The funeral procession had to go 40mins to the graveyard(30mph) & on the highway. People drove into the procession at least 3 or 4 times that I saw(going 30mph & 4-ways on and people still did…), and then once we left the graveyard we were cut off 3+times in under 2 minutes after we got off the highway…

Its worth trying. Personally I find it relaxes and calms me, makes me happier, etc. I don't smoke it for medicinal reasons though, just cause I wanna, but yeah it works for some, others not. If you can get past the first few times you smoke and get used to it, and get a bit of a tolerance, the risk of becoming depressed or having a panic attack (a bad trip) induced from weed is very low. Personally, I'd smoke weed before I pumped my body with heavy prescription drugs, as they can mess you up big time (addiction potential, damage to your liver and heart, and so on)

Hey Hobbit,
You don't know me but I have been a big fan of your work and posts. I have not been on very much lately (do to overworking myself) and never posted much. I truly know what you are going through. If you ever need to talk or whatever, feel free to buzz me. I hope you personally start feeling better. I can't wait to see you the forums more….

On a happy note –> God gave us weed … what else are we supposed to do with it?

ps: ya it's there … but there are consequences, I've got some friends who wish they could go back… (works for some people fine though)…so… in mind… I hope you make the best choice concerning your health and happyness/happiness.

Hobbit;
Best of luck man, even though I dont know the community that well around here, I appreciate all the SRL members and moderators here. Greatest luck in your recovery. Someone as smart as you should surely make it
So, as I said, I wish you a speedy recovery, and I imagine EVERYONE here wishes the same.
I really dont go into smoking for medicinal reasons, but from my experience, I wouldnt actually try it  2 of my family members and nearly 3 others have passed on because of smoking, tobacco or other. Here in the UK smoking anything other than tobacco is illegal, but personally (if it offends you in any way, class it as nothing as it is just personal opinion) I think weed smokers should be fined\arrested.
Anyways,
Good luck, from

Chris, I'm really sorry to hear that such things are happening to you.
I've had some experience with some of the things you mention that you have, and I can image how bad you must have it. All I can reccomend is to be with people or do some sort of activity that gets you happy and/or gets your mind off things for a while.

It's been a while, but you're still with your girlfriend, no? I remeber you proudly posting picture(s?) of her her on SRL :p
If you're still with her, you should spend more time with her and give her more attention :)

And, I believe that I speak for most SRL members that have been here in your period of activity, when I say that you was one of the (if not THE) best mods on SRL, and also one of our favourite administrators - and your inactivity is a loss for us.

I really hope you'll get better ASAP, good luck with your life! :)
