As I love SRL, and want to contribute, I would like to know how EXACTLY to become an SRL member besides "Make a script".

I have noticed some people who are SRL members, yet don't have any scripts.


Was there another way they got it?

i want to learn to script… but i just can't get it… imma go read more tuts

There is NO other way to become members. Maybe they have scripts in the members only section, maybe their script is old and gone, but they made a script. I thin forever ago rep got into member or something?

But now the only way is a script!

Unless you count two ub3rly newbie scripts, I've never made any :p

I was auto-memberized about 3-4 months ago or so. I wasn't told why, but I'm guessing it was just because I was active (had about 800 posts in like 150 days registered), made useful posts (Had Useful Poster Cup), and was helpful (Got Helpers Cup upon being memberized). I knew some SCAR/SRL back then, but definitely not enough to get SRL Member for that alone.

So, all I can say is, if you don't want to script for SRL-Membership, it won't be easy, but it isn't impossible. Be active enough, mature enough, helpful enough, etc. and maybe you'll get noticed.

I do want to contribute, and I am currently doing the Advanced Scripting help now.

Once I get there, I plan on releasing a Firemaking script.

You HAVE to script to be a member. That is the whole purpose.

A small amount of people are srl members before they made it so you had to apply.

Ow there is, someone remember legendaryhero90, IMO, If I remember right he hasn't made any script, and didn't knew how to script, he was just very active.

yeah but that wasa a long time ago alot has changed since then

There are 4 ways ATM. AFAIK

1. Someone makes a recommendation
2. You can script really well!
3. Apply for Members!
4. Contribution to the community (Rare)

On number 4 it is possible as 'i pro leehin' had it because he wrote a kickass tutorial on SCAR also he was recommended.

On scripting really well - Markus became auto memberised for his Air Crafter, as did mixter mainly because mixter is really clever and knows more stuff than we credit him for.

A freak incident happened ages ago when SRL updated this meant that people who had applied for members before the update were automatically memberised and an example of this - lolpie.

Only the leaders got SRL Members. As they are fellow botters of the RS world. Example: Speljohan and Quartar

All other ways to get SRL Members is very rare. If you truly want to be a member, fastest way is by applying with a script.

Simple as pie make a script:) don't leech one.

Like anyone can make there own bot, but cant make a script…?

Bottom line is the only way to actively try to become an SRL Member is applying with a script. All the other ways are not under your control and will either happen or they won't.

Ok since i rlly want to become a member too…ill start making a script i guess…tnx for making this thread..it made me decide 100% to start making a script =)

The Official and Only ways to get members:

1. Make a good script and apply, and hope you get accepted
2. Make a good script, and hope one of the admins notice
3. Have a very, very good attitude, hope that one of the devs/mods/admins notice
4. Be a leader of one of the other big RS cheating communities
5. Be an old buddy of Fawki! :p

Yeah, its a random lottery to be auto-memberized.

Contribute lots, and you will be noticed.

Hey guys its been a while since i have been on but, they may submit the script for the application but never release it. :rolleyes:

Well the only sure fire way is to be active and make/submit a script in an application. There has been a few people to be accepted by other means, but not too many.

I can proudly say that a LONG time ago I was the very first person to be granted SRL membership without submitting an application or making too much of a script for that matter. I'd been around for an extremely long time though (since kaitnieks), and everyone knew me well.
Of course I'm not sure what it was exactly that I did to make Fakawi notice me and give me membership, but a few things I did:
-Don't spam/flam (duh)
-Make useful posts that helps people
-Make sure you use proper grammar and whatnot…
-And I did have a decent knowledge of scripting, I made a few private
scripts and would help noobies with scripting
-Use scripts and post your proggies/bug reports and things to fix.

So yes even I scripted/knew what I was doing (in terms of scripting) well enough. I just didn't exactly post an app with a script.

Thats just some info I though might help you a little, anything else and you can PM me man. Or just post on here would work also I recon.

I am new to SRL as well, but I have NO IDEA how to script. I don't even know how to start a script or make even the simplest script.

Could you redirect me to a thread that teaches me how to script?
