Currently SMART v4 does not work correctly. This is due to Jagex changing the way RuneScape is now displayed. We are aware that after a short time of use you are able to click inside SMART even though its blocked and it loses focus on SMART therefore stopping SCAR from autoing.

Jagex has made the client switch canvas's causing SMART to lose its own canvas and therefor not work. This causes color finding to not work, as well as the SMART mouse to disappear from the screen.

Please wait for more information on the status of SMART.

Update: 10/29/08
It is possible to use SMART partially as we found out. [most should know by now]
But if you follow these steps you can auto with SMART but you can't monitor it like before.

1. Close all current SCARs open
2. Setup the script / Account
3. Push play
4. When SMART pops up minimize it asap

Be aware of the following:

• If it doesn't load completely first time, wait awhile and re-start the script keeping SMART minimized always.
• You must always keep SMART minimized otherwise it loses the canvas.
• If you restore SMART to look at it, you have to restart SCAR and do the process over again.

is this the first thread as a Developer? any way, yeh i think its its best to wait. any ideas on the time scale?

Yea the canvas changing thing is something I have noticed too, It goes from like Fullscreen to regular when its loading.
Lets hope SMART is up and working soon :)

hmmm, is ther anyway to keep it for resizing? Coud we make SMART fullscreen or sumthing, allowing itself to resize accordingly through running the script? haha im usless with delphi/C++/ect. Just suggestions XD

The "switch" is them actually destroying the canvas then repainting it from my understanding.

Probably not, but do you think they knew how SMART worked?

Yes, this canvas updating is annoying as hell. I only managed to fix it by making a procedure, doing FindWindowBySize(), and then a SetTimeout() on itself… not too elegant, but it works.

Just to let people know, before you start trying to crack SMART again(Widget :rolleyes:), I have contacted Ben, he is aware of the problem. But says he busy and I don't know when he'll fix it.

but problem is the people who made there script with reflection…

sucks for them (happy i used it 2-3 times in lesser hassler).

Well sounds like it's pretty messed up then.

But like Harry said, Ben is know as The Doctor and he's always came through. He just takes his time and watches us whine and moan about it lol. I guess if I was in his position, I'd like watching how much everyone depended on me also ha.

This is a good thing IMO ( if he fixes it within a month or so), i was getting to attached to reflection , since then i have made a box fighter and almost a guild miner :)

What do you mean a box fighter?
And same for me being attached to reflection/me sais:get the colour based st00f back up!

perhaps a timing code to make it look for both canvases , or just make it search for the second canvas after a set time, so it will repaint when it finds the normal screen size.

SCAR 2.03 prevails again!…. lol you are probably correct about the Doctor though… he does seem to find a solution to it all…. but in the meantime lets not be daunted by the prospect of no SMART… lets use brains… try to find solution(s) and work with what we can plain scar and old style scripting … along with new ideas.

i think he meant it only logged him in or something because most script i tried that have Smart did the same thing

SMART status update.

Most people know about this but I felt it needed a clear explanation.

I have also found out that you can keep it open if the window is not active.

E.g, when SMART pops up, click somewhere else on the screen, causing SMART to minimize without clicking " - ". Then, minimize every other thing and if you then can see SMART, it should work fine as long as you don't touch it's RS screen…

when you say minimize smart do i mini mize runescape or scar itslef sry if i sound like a total noob at this cuz i kinda am =\

i can't run any script now :s, i always get wrong world check prefix or something, and i changed the worlds in world.ini and checked everything, and in the srl.scar file i don't even use the smart reffering but still i get that error, now i can't run any script =(

When you press play when your using a smart enabled script, a new runescape window should pop up unless you havent installed the fix. The window will have three rectangular buttons across the bottom. If you see this window just minimize it straight away and the script will run but you cannot see what its doing.

i new window doesnt pop up so whats this fix i need to download

I also get that "Check World Prefix" error for all the scripts that I have tried (Wizzups Essence Miner, a draynor fisher(net), and a draynor wcer). I have everything updated. No clue why this keeps happening for all scripts.

what does it mean canvas? Is it like the format of the screen? Or the size of it? maybe the colors? please someone explain.:confused:

if u notice when u minimize runescape then open it or switch tabs ect. The client goes big then reg size. Thats what the canvas kinda is ~~~

you mean, when u get that white screen from switching tabs> then, at first its a rectangle and then a square? is that what you mean?
If that^ is what is right… then…

why won't Benland just make the SMART client just a little bit bigger,and have maybe have 2 canvas built into the SMART client window? is that possible?

second : The canvas is in the runescape client. If it was in smart, we wouldnt change it to go big in the first place.

is it possible that the smart screen, thing, to start up as the runescape home page, then click free user button, like you would as real person. Because if u click new user it starts u off in low detail, i dont think it ever switches from anything. then just change the world, from the games main menu. this would be like a locked in version of not using smart, considering it would have to automatically lock onto the game window client. as smart as u ppl r, i dought it could be that hard. that way, we could have a quick fix, while still being able to go on with our daily computer lives. a plus of the old smart was it ablity to minimize into the corner and practically forget about it fo long periods of time. i realize we use smart for more than that, but for now, itd be better than nuthin. not to mention, the most part of scripts are smart-based.

the old smart was really its own thing, but for now, y cant we just have a locked in version of old style scripting

by the way, if what im talking about, it completly retarded and unessacry, dont think ill be affended if u announce it. i dont really care, just tryin to help out
