Well.. it has been interesting on the grand exchange lately… prices skyrocketing… no supply…Seriously strength pots are over 1.4k ea now and god knows what lobsters and tuna are…

I checked actually lobsters are over 320 now… what were they 200?

lol the thing is i totally saw this coming… i just didnt have the cash to invest properly :( shame really. Oh well… maybe trout will go up :D i have 10k of those

or paused the prices to jump up high, i try buying red dragon set. and it was gone… thats bull there demand is really low , only rangers use it no1 else! and ive seen so little wearing them..

Yea, they probably did, realistically lobsters should be well over 1k each… there are NO lobsters on the GE

I spent a few days trying to buy lobsters and I couldn't get a single one. Looks like it's a sellers market ;)

Its hard to buy fucking ANYTHING… I put max price to buy 2 whips… took me 4 hours to get one. Idk if i got the other yet… And yeah if u want any Rune stuff, you might as well say fuck it and go kill a monster for it to drop instead cause u ain't getting one from the GE! ild pay 800 per lobbie. im that desperate to pk. i enjoy it. i hardly ever kill any 1. but i like the fighthing. i bought 53 rune battle axes last week and now there just goin up, hoping to make 20k per axe.

will weapons and armour become rare or very expensive soon? because they vanishes when pkers dies and nobody can get them anymore? what do you think?

I was wondering the same thing.

Also, I think Jagex is manipulating the prices, because I went to the air running world and there were hundreds of people buying air runes because GE was empty. And the price is still only 14 and that is the maximum price. ( I am waiting for price to go up too 15 or 16 to sell my 35k airs.

Well, I have invested 130k in lobsters. I hope I can buy them, and if I do I can sell them!

Runescape's economy is going to be very poor soon. Why?

Because for instance you kill someone with Bandos Godsword and with like full veracs. After you kill him, he only drops a rune platebody?? So basicly the bandos godsword and full Veracs just disappeared? thats just about 20m going to nowhere.


Also and yes, mostly everything is going up. Armor, Food, Runes, etc.

I'm making a catherby fisher if anyone wants to help me. Preferably someone who is good with reflection so we can do failsafes with it.

Ontopic: This is ridiculous. I could make millions off of this one. The armor is going to dissapear. That's why there is smithing, and people will get that up and make, huggggggggge profits.

320 sounds about right for lobsters. GE prices can only change +/-5% a day, can't they?

Yes, making planks, moving houses, buying butlers etc, all paying an NPC. Paying NPCs and items disappearing are ways for money to go out. Getting infinitely respawning items (raw materials like wood/fish/ores or monster drops) is money coming in. So it's a sellers market (and a resellers if your smart/lucky).

For the first time that I can remember, I can now actually make a PROFIT with smithing.

I've been buying rune ore at max price, superheating it, then smithing into rune kiteshields, and I make a few k each shield.

The price of bars and ore are also skyrocketing, but as long as the armor prices keep climbing I think it will stay profitable.

This is really ticking me off. They capped the air rune prices at 14 gp… The economy would be better if they didnt mess with it. If the prices continually rise for a certain item, lets say raw lobsters. People will see this and thus start to fish the lobsters too make money. Capping an item people see "O, prices aren't rising up anymore, it must mean demand is going down. I don't need to fish lobsters." When infact there still is a huge demand but the average person who doesn't buy lobsters doesn't realize this.

I love GE it has everything! Although some things are over-priced, it's still good to get items quick.

Now for something usefull…
Today lob prices dropped 12~13 gp ea and you can't sell raw lobs even
at mid price any more…you ask why?

Here it is…
When Jagex announced the opening of PvP worlds, wise merchers bought all the lobs they could in anticipation, waiting to haul in loads of cash. And on 10/15/08, they did, lob prices went up by 100gp in like 3 days. Now, the skillers see this and say, whoa, I can earn a fortune off lobs at 407 ea!!! So they fish like crazy and sell em… At first, all the the people with 74+ cooking bought them all, trying to take advantage of the high price of C lobs, thinking that C lobs would out price raw lobs…however, they were wrong. Jagex capping the price of C lobs caused the cooker's to lose a fortune, which in turn caused them to stop cooking/stop buying raw lobs…At that same moment…merchants were dumping all their lobs when they found out the price was capped, causing a MAJOR overflow of supply, and since they wanted to dump them as fast as they could, many of them sold at min…And all of the happy pkers bought them all thinking it was a bargain. Due to this massive buyout of lobs at min price, the price of c lobs hella dropped, which caused even more cookers to quit…which in turn affected the skillers, therefore impacting the whole economy…=(

The same thing is going to happen to rune items…Rune scims have skyrocketed, going back into the 20k range which hasn't happened in
a long long time…When Jagex caps the price, scim prices will go back down into the 10k~20k range…which will cause smithers to stop smithing rune scims, which in turn affects the miners….which in turn fucks up the Runescape economy even more…

Thats just my opinion…anyone agree?

This entire thing is a way to remove money from the economy. It was putting it into a slum.

Supply and demand, with little supply demand rises. They are making once profitable skills profitable again.

I have 49K lobsters, 21k swordies, 11k sharks, and 1k ssara brews:

dselling lobs 400ea, swordies 600ea, sharks 1.2k ea, bres, 8k ea.

Short term, I think it's pretty effective. Long term, I'm not sure.

I was 1-iteming on my pure for a while, and it was okay. Most people were wearing armor, eating food, and praying so it was almost impossible to kill someone. But I was able to find a few other 1 itemers that were happy to fight over and over just to wail on each other and rack up fast xp. Since there was a huge group of people right around Lumby, it only took 5 seconds to re-equip and go find another fight, and dying was not an inconvenience at all.

But I guess that begs the question of why anyone would want to create a pure like that, since you can't really make a profit anymore by pking with them. You can't kill people wearing rune, and you don't ever get anything profitable from the other pures, so you're wasting your time.

I dont know if Jagex did any G.E. pausing, but it seems like it. I was wondering the same thing about the armor disappearing. Its gotta be hundreds of pieces of armor ever hour or so. I think it will make armor prices rise.

the only profitable thing is going to hotspots and having 75k or 25k worth of stuff, getting skull'd… and hoping for a good drop

i think that they fixed the logging glitch… it now says that you can't log out while in fight:D …. i tried it!

edit: also people were loggin out of one pure and loggin in with another and killing the same guy… it was really gay cuz they would switch pures like every 30 seconds, so they would have more food than me and i would have to run!

So the runescape economy is officially in shambles again. Its alright though. More and more people are just going to become DIY players because they won't be able to rely on anything. =P

I'm more of a self sufficient person, so GE prices dont pose much of a threat to me. I only work on pure profit. I supply my food. Some of my runes and stuff like that. The only things that bother me are good armour and wepons and stuff. But i sell in GE so the raising prices cover it (sort of)

Speaking of pvp worlds at lumbridge… I found an amusing glitch that jagex has not anticipated… what you do is you 2 item… a scim and like 28k cash in ur inv… fight to the death but before u die drop the cash, comeback, and pick it up and resume fighting. This way you get the good drops when u get a nice kill, and u dont put anything on the line :)

I double logged with my freind and I's mains and I systematiclly killed him for an hour in the Falador hot zone (Empty world ftw). I got nothing more than addy plates, although it added up to 300k-ish. And a strength level :).

I think Jagex can tell if your really pking or not, and if your doing well… Otherwise it's down to luck.

That's because you can make scimmies with lvl 89 smithing (with dwarven stout), which is 4.84 million xp, while 2h require lvl 98 (with stout), which is 11.8 million xp. BIG difference.

im a bit pissed at this min :(

i had sgs hated it sold it for like 38.5 then bourght 822 glories lowest so i could go make a quick 2mill from charging and forgot membership runs out lol and glories have gone down like 3 since.

I would be pissed, my rune g plan still isnt working out, i need it to rise. Teh problem is there is a high demand for a lobby script in kara, but no one is willing to make one ? Rep ++ for those who do, big $$$

Yea, since pking came out people anticipated and bought, then they waited to sell. But i think that lobs should be in the 500's-800's because of the supply and demand with pking.
