You may be thinking, wtf, you're at uni, don't play rs it's a kiddys game!

Well, I need to get on it to sort some characters out before they're sold.

So, the current problem I have at the moment:

The client gets stuck on 'Connecting to update server'.

This is because port 43594 is blocked by the uni firewall.

I've heard you can use socks5 proxies to get around this? But have no experience with it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Programs, proxy ips (that are good), etc.

If getting on RS is just a one-time thing, couldn't you just have a friend do this to save you the trouble?

Well you should try and find a list of working proxies, though i doubt theres much working ones for free.

I remember making a thread about this so if you search, I think you should find it :)

hide ip ng. Get a 3 day trial version. It is a beastly program, easy to use, takes seconds to actually apply the fake ip. Should work if that is what you are asking for.

Not looking to hide my ip, looking to be able to connect through a proxy (or other means) to the runescape update server.

I don't really get what you mean? Hide IP NG makes websites think you IP is something else…isn't that what a proxy is suspose to be?
