I need people to vote in the poll,

EXPLAIN YOUR REASON PLEASE!

Im trying to conveience my dad that firefox owns IE up the butt

He thinks if something works, then why get a 'better' version. Please keep the reasons CLEAN, no naughty language, going to be showing my dad these results so i can get FF instead of bad IE

Opera, reason: Epic.

Firefox is faster, more secure, allows for more customization, and overall is much easier to use / edit the settings for.

Haha, my dad says the exact same thing (He doesn't like changing stuff he's been using for a while :p).

Firefox for two or three big reasons -

- Firefox Add-ons can do pretty much anything you can think of
- Firefox is easier to use (example: type in a word in the address bar and you'll see every site that had that word in its URL/Title)
- (Not sure if this one's true or not, but it's what I hear) Firefox isn't affected by as many viruses as IE since the majority of people still use IE and that's what viruses target

Opera and Fire Fox are same base system… [If I recall correctly]

All in all Fire Fox is used less then Explorer. So there is less people targeting to hack Fire Fox. [This includes the many virus's]

Firefox wins, customization and sweet add ons. I never liked IE.

p.s. Delete the other thread you made about this as well… -.-

Also, if you type a word or phrase into the address bar on Firefox (without .com, .org, or any domain) it will automatically google it.

Firefox is becoming more widely used, but the fact that it's so easy to customize means it will still be relatively hard to attack via viruses.

FF ftw, Safer, faster, more pretty ect…

Well, I don't know about safety, firefox can be just as vulnerable as IE, it just has been around for a shorter time. With its gaining popularity, I would expect to see FF specific viruses becoming more and more popular.

For me, FF is the better choice. It uses less memory, feels more responsive (though I have to admit that IE 7 does have a somewhat zippy feel to it at times), and you can't beat ad-block!

FireFox is just ftw…

Faster, less memory, and I feel like I'm in control more than I do in IE.

Firefox. Reasons stated above except that firefox is crashing on me :(

1) Adblock Plus
2) Abstract Classic
3) Works on Linux :p

Otherwise, it's safer and less annoying (only asks for permission when things really could screw stuff up, and programs can't download themselves like with older versions of IE [5 and below]), can render many pages IE can't properly (Gecko 5.0 ftw), has a better popup blocker than IE (from my experiences at least), and runs better on crap computers (like mine :()

Not really, not a single line of code is similar to each other. Firefox uses Xulrunner/Gecko, and Opera uses it's own Presto.

Firefox all the way, but Chrome is pretty cool too :)

Firefox is better user front end due to the easily added addons and customization it also uses a different method to load websites then IE that helps prevent some viruses and load pages quicker, overall it is a lot safer then IE, but overall I use neither.

My old browser I used was avant. Why? I liked it personally it had a very comfortable feel easily minimizable to the taskbar, saving pages if you wanted etc.

Now I use chrome, its still in its early stages but it is great, it has many awesome tools built in such as inspecting and Incognito mode [Allows you to view websites without any data wrote to your computer and minimal wrote to their server (If I understand correct hides your IP too)], its even faster for me then FireFox, Like mentioned before its still in its early stages and has the occasional bug, including probably a few viruses easily developed for it right now, but there is a much bigger group of people improving it along with look at the owners they have showed their skill in Internet Knowledge ;)

I don't know this for sure, but I heard there's a loophole in the Chrome ToS or EULA that means anything uploaded using Chrome belongs to Google.

Mozilla, looks neater, has many really good add-ons, seems faster to me(most likely because of the add-ons that block advertisements etc.0

Firefox is great. When it has an error and crashes, you can recover your session with all your tabs saved. That's a pretty nifty feature.

Also, I like that it googles if there is no .com, .net, .tv, .biz, .org (etc).

Ex:

Open up Firefox.
Type srl forums in the address bar.
Press enter.

It automatically googles it and goes to the forums.

1. you can modify your firefox to go wayyy faster.
2. it scans files that you have downloaded for viruses.

IE is for noobs that don't know about FF, or have no clue that IE sucks nuts.

IE is behind in development of other browsers, most viruses are designed for it, there are multiple exploits for it, it's slower, firefox's add-ons own, etc. etc. etc…
