SRL Archive - RS has been updated.

Apparently there was a hidden update today. Now you can only buy 10 of most armor and weapons every 4 hours (previously 100). Also, the selling limit is also 10 every 4 hours (previously no limit at all). This will obviously make ge merching much less appealing, and could possibly have other disastrous consequences in market stability

Wow I thought they were getting better with changing the trade thing to 5000, but then this, how ridiculous! I guess they want to control the runescape economy, or at least pretend that they can :stirthepot:

its because buy-out clans buying tons and tons of items , so the price goes low in ge and than sell for hiiiiigh price… works like a charm, i was gnna join a clan. but this just popped out lol.

The 4 hour "buy/sell" rule has been there for a while. If you buy an item within the last 4 hours you can't sell it. Are you sure this wasn't just you finding out about this?

Almost led to a seizure resembling Angry German Kid on a particular computer in Finland when I failed to merchant dboots within 2 minutes :p

Oh man, this sucks! I came back to rs hoping to kill a year before med school and all these crappy updates make we wanna quit and play something like neopets!

Lol, neopets… Is this trading update only limiting armor, or other things too?

this basically equals no merchant at all no way :P

At least I can make some money off of merchanting with the 5000 update by going to karamja and buying them off of the fishers really cheap. Then resell in GE, but this sucks really badly :(

they will never since they kept getting complaints and getting sued from credit card company or somthn like that…

to me it doesnt make sence , it isnt jagex fault they made a rule no rwt so why did the users do it, so jagex should not get in trouble at all….

Your right, they shouldnt get into trouble but they will. It is their game and they have the power to stop it happening. Look at what they have done! To be honest, how does rwt actually effect the game?

All they really killed was autoers bulking out their bank with resources and trading it over quickly and easily. I personally only made a maximum of $100 through selling gold. I did try web proxy hacking but the password lists you need and the patience was too much effort.

Did get 2 hacks though, one being a 20mill gp bank :) that was an easy sale of $3 each :p

This update is is a massive shame, I used to merchant armadyl on ge but looks like that won't be happening any more. As far as ge merchanting being over though it is nowhere near, there are still plenty of non-armour items (treasure trail) that can be merchanted with great results!

Just because someone posted this info on another forum doesn't make it correct. You'll have to dig deeper than just one other website ;)

Ok. But it doesn't really make sense how it is the cause though.

If they have their rules set up correctly they shouldn't be able to be sued. Look at world of warcraft, Blizzard has covered all grounds, they can monitor everything you do on your computer, they can ban you at anytime without reason, you don't own your characters or nothing they have on them, and your subscription is for using their server. Actually thinking of it this is how all games are they don't get sue'd over cheating, they sue or send a C&D, it is rare a community finds a way to sue that will hold up in court, I think credit card companies might of tried to sue because of scamming rwt sites/members getting caught and banned for rwt..??? I don't know but I strongly feel Jagex couldn't be sue'd for such things.

The economy will be stable, at Jagex's prices, the players no longer control the economy they do.

What! are you serious? this game is going down the tubes. They take away all of the fun and good ways to make money. now you actually have to level up your character to be rich -_-

Wow that's pretty stupid… only 10 now.. I thought they were gonna make it easier for mercants?
