It's a RuneScape client that gives us this ability to do other things with our computer while autoing with SCAR because it has a mouse system built into it. It also gives us the ability to utilize the reflection features of Java.

What do you mean by the reflection features of java?

Instead of finding colours and bitmaps and DTM's, it reads the client and the messages it spits out and we tell it what to do with that information.

The RuneScape client has some important variables that can be of use to scripters like locations of NPCs, players, objects, items on the ground, interfaces, etc. With reflection, we can read what's stored in those variables (if we know the variable's location) and then analyze it and react accordingly.

simple version: imagine the matrix. now take the red pill.

long version:
imagine the game in front of you, what you see is images.
let's say that there's an item in front of you.. you see the image for that item, but how did the image get there?

The server told you what item is where.
usually the only way to figure out that the item is there is to visually look for it… you know.. see the red dot on the minimap, notice its colors and shape on the ground and then when you move your mouse over it you get the name. That's basically how scar does it also.

With reflection, you simply read the data (id and location) the server sent you, and it tells scar where exactly it is, instead of looking for the images.
