I have played ON AND OFF since original runescape.

Are you affilated in anyway with Jagex LTD?
No

Please write down a paragraph about Yourself.

I have programmed using c++ for several different tasks ranging from dll injections and packet reading to captcha breaking and OCR. I also have done a lot of data mining php scripts. Took 2 years of java, still don't feel familiar enough with it.

Have been scripting for myself using scar for a long time, progressing a long ways since my noob days, mostly script for the enjoyment of seeing it work, since I rarely bot myself, enjoying the challenges of requests, and I plan to start posting all my scripts for the public starting with the one I include with this.

Yep yep, just put the script together fairly quick learning reflection. and thanks thanks =o will change it for my next update!

MasterKill, if the current player is a working player, LoggedIn returns true and the working player won't get false, just rotate in the loop, which is the whole purpose.

I noticed this:
  if (Members = 'yes') or (Members = 'Yes') then
begin
case Random(75) of

This can be shortened to this:
  if Lowercase('yes') then
begin
case Random(75) of

Just so it converts the string to lowercase and yeh… Simple. Im voting yes.

It looks good. But after a quick look through.. You have no SRL walking. No SRL object finding.

So it's a NO. I thought we decided that reflection could not be used to gain acess to SRL Members in an app?

Gu3st...

2008-09-06 13:11:43

yes but:

type TreesRec = record
x: Integer;
y: Integer;
end;

var
Banked, EntsAv, EV: Integer;
Tree: array of TreesRec;

you could just do:

var
Tree: array of TPoint;

No, I will not accept reflection without color backup

Make the worlds into a TStringArray/TIntegerArray called Worldz…then use
SelectWorld(Worldz[random(high(Worldz))]).

Example of a TInt..:
Worldz := [ 2,12,22 ];

Good luck, and once the worlds are on 1 line, the script is much too short to get in, and no colour backups. No/Holding vote for me.

I was around extra variables, like my first time playing with reflection and trees i had multiple tree types and could still easily cycle through the trees easily (Like ents/up/down was stored with the tree, along with some other things like colors/name for fail safes but when i was testing they _NEVER_ went to the fail safes only for banking so I left them out)

People say to backup reflection with srl – But reflection will always work if the reflection hooks file is up to date and it is used correctly in the script, its like saying you should use an AutoColor function on something that never changes colors when you could easily just pick the color.

And someone asked why so long signed up with so few posts – I learned about scar/srl here when i -FIRST- signed up. I was a complete moron then, and didn't have anything to add to the community, i later dropped out and just used scar on my own but after randomly bumping into the sites again and learning about reflection I am showing back up.

Yeah the script has a few mistakes but it runs smooth and does what it was designed to do i stated it was version 0.1 and I would update it as needed, I'm sorry i didn't know I needed a script with a set minimum length and couldn't use reflection. Only thing I saw was no autotalkers/leech scripts etc.

No its not. IMO, its like saying use tolerance on a non-constant colour.

Because if the hooks do die, so does your script. Sometimes it takes a couple days to fix the hooks, wouldn't you like to be using it? Too bad, the hooks are down, and you were too lazy to fix it. Sure, it works under the right conditions, but with SRL backup it will truely be great.

the hooks can easily be updated within seconds of realizing they have been changed, combining this with a quick function to check for updated hooks and that issue is gone, if you had a failsafe for function using colors you would limit your script greatly, so unless theres a failsafe for EVERY function that uses reflection the script would break just the same as having no fail safes. And theres some things that can't be done reasonably with colors that can be using reflections methods.

Reflection is way to easy. Let say runescape killed Reflection, then you couldn't script from what we see here.

No. You are teh retard.

- As myles said, I would like you to try updating the hooks. Nobody here even does it. I only know two people, there are obviously more, but still, people that can update them. BenLand and Ollie. Not even SpelJohan updates them.. We steal them from RSBot when Ollie updates their hooks.

- Yes. You can reasonably back a script with SRL. I did it, and I suck at scripting. I havn't scripted since last December, but I just made a Varrock Oaker, not that hard to back it up and make it work just as well..

- The whole point of backing up the script is to back up everything, so that it works..

Point out a flawless ent finder that works quick enough to never break an axe please. most functions can easily be backed up i agree, and uhm, I updated the hooks I used when the update came out? I didn't have a complete list cause i don't fully understand the hooks well enough to get a full list, just the ones i understand and use. Oh well, to me it looks like a bunch of people who have no clue the potential of reflection and despise it because they don't understand how it works are going to just vote this no, might as well close the app since srl doesn't want to adapt with new ways to do things

I have the majority of the hooks our reflection system needs hooked (with some help from outdated updaters) and ready to go (and some that aren't currently in there). Also, Quaters updates RSBot's hooks, not Ollie or anyone else.

As for the application, I'm partly torn also. The script looks pretty good, but the reflection without backup through SRL seems to be causing quite the uproar here. I'll hold my vote for now.

Haha. We know the potential. Did you also know that when using findNPC, it will find the ent that is 4 trees away? And since when does hovering the mouse over the tree, checking for uptext before and after clicking it, and seeing the colour of the text not work? It works for me.. Maybe you don't understand the potential of colour finding?

BTW. I like reflection, I just don't see any reason to change from colour unless it isnt working..

I just want to know why you think you have to argue over EVERYTHING? this isn't a flaming war, and you are acting very immature starting name calling. And I am sorry I never messed with making my own ent finder to see if it works, I just know EVERY script I have EVER tried fails on ents, so i figured it was somewhat difficult.

Stop with the name calling and flaming in a members app…

Bottom line is right now reflection is not part of the core of SRL. It is a branch off it right now that is mainly developed by Members, not the dev team. So currently all member acceptances are based off color searching scripts. This will continue until reflection is in the core of SRL. Which from my understanding won't happen, or at least not for a very long time.

Actually, just because one script isn't 1k lines of hard SRL functions doesn't mean someone doesn't know how to use SRL, just because someone picks the better option doesn't make them any less of a scripter, it makes them better if anything. And much of my attitude has changed since I put in this app, being flamed and criticized because of the way this script is set up. It uses a newer system that most people are not used too, so they instantly say it sucks, probably because they don't understand it themselves.

Reflection is by FAR the better option in several situations, when it can be applied correctly it makes near flawless scripts. I am sorry that this forum has become so stuck up since I originally signed up here, requiring a script that can obviously revolutionize scripting and run forever while still using more basic strategies of doing what it does.

I think I will stick to being a Junior member, cause those boards are a lot more friendly, along with several junior members show more scripting knowledge then SRL members.

According to the SRL application requirements it says:

Please post some examples of your scar knowledge

This says scar knowledge, it does not say SRL knowledge. SRL is an include to scar. SRL is not a language, The only thing the application process mentions is it has to be an SRL script, and SRL is required to run the script, it uses several functions that is included in SRL.

Whenever there is an update it is not like the script is broken and completely trashed forever, no. All it takes is updating the hooks, you can easily include a short function to check for updates and update as needed. I think people would rather have a script that can run flawlessly for as long as they set and possibly break for a few hours 2-3 times a month.

Way to bring me into it again.

You are teh retard when it comes to taking critisism. I am pretty sure that if you were more mature than a 10 year old kid, you could probably get in with this script.

Telling him to learn SRL first is like saying to learn how to read a book before you write one. Not the best example, but allow me to elaborate. You need to know the strategies of the original concept (reading a book in this case) in order to reproduce much more complicated things designed for your own use (writing). I don't want critisism of the flaws here, I know it is a bad example and I accept that. Maybe while I rant some more I can think of something else.

When you say I was insulting you :
1) Get a sense of humor / Learn to take it (Back to my point of acting older than a 10 year old)
2) I gave valid points for why you seemed mental to me.
3) You came back, and tried to argue my valid points, made yourself look more retarded, and showed us how immature you are.

Now. I do not see any reason to continue talking here, I will simply end up flaming, because not only are you as stubborn as a mule, you are also as retarded as a piece of horse shit, with about the same amount of openmindedness as a selfish little kid could have.

Now stop trying to get better scripts for teh pixles, or grow up.

I finally read through this thread and Seroko I agree withthe arguements against you. There are several of us that have been here for quite some time now (and are still active). The main thing is that this is SRL Member and since Reflection isn't in the SRL Rev (yet) I don't think it should be accepted for SRL Membership. If you script in color-base then you get a better understanding for the capabilities of SCAR and SRL and I agree that if you have a strong base (like garret said with his stupid reading a book analogy :rolleyes:, no offense) you will be able to make A LOT better script. Using Reflection doesn't really make you have to know SCAR or SRL for that matter to be able to script with Reflection.

I believe I did learn and correctly resolved the issue to everyone who posted constructive criticism. If they just said Reflection sucks, no reflection backup, etc. How can one learn from that? The script works, it doesn't fail the only way it would fail is if reflection is out dated, then that makes it just another yew cutter, nothing unique. No reason to use it (If it was completely backed by colors). My next script [Not sure if I want to app again due to the flaming and insults] uses a mixture of both.

Uhm, I have been programming, which makes scripting look like reading a kids book, since before SRL was even out. I have taken programming classes in college, all of which I have achieved very high scores. You have no idea how long it took me to "learn to script" and I believe my "longevity" puts yours to shame, this does not mean nothing though. And I do believe their are still several functions/procedures in the SRL include that I have used in my script, yes the core procedures are based on gathering information through reflection but it is not like it is only reflection.

If you want to vote no your welcome to. If you want to comment on things I incorrectly did in my script you are welcome too, and its a big plus to write a short explanation of why it is wrong and what could of been done. If you come to just insult about reflection and insult me and expect me to suck up to you then please, do me a favor and vote no and go back to what ever you was doing.

And. Not backing reflection with srl is NOT incorrect. There is nothing wrong with it, it still works, the script still runs fine, adding in full srl backup would change very minimal if anything with the script. EXCEPT for when reflection hooks are outdated. But then again. Not meaning to cause an arguement, people say "when you update the hooks" blah blah blah. How about this as an example, SRLs mysterious box random is currently outdated and doesn't work. When you can update the solver then you can use SRL.. Its the same example. Both can easily be broken. Oh and before I get flamed further for what I just said I took all of 5 minutes to add this function to my script so it wouldn't fail (considering SRL still hasn't updated and its been several days) I know it is very similar to SRL i know it is not original, i know it is very basic.

function BoxOpened : Boolean;
var
x, y, i : Integer;
begin
Result := False;
GameTab(4);
Wait(100 + Random(50));
if FindBitmapMaskTolerance(BoxMask, x, y, MIX1, MIY1, MIX2, MIY2, 5, 5) then
begin
Mouse(x + 8, y + 8, 10, 10, True);
Result := True;
end;
end;

function R_SolveBox: Boolean;
begin
Result := False;
if BoxOpened then
begin
Wait(3000+Random(2000));
Mouse((120+(120*GetBoxAnswer)), 290, 30, 10, True);
Wait(1000+Random(200));
end;
if not(FindBox) then
Result := True;
end;

Its as simple as this in members app, script may run fine, but it doesn't show everything you can do, and not advanced.

Why dont you just write a Color based script and apply next month ?

Did masterkill post his list of things needed? That would set this guy in his place..

I do have a very good attitude until someone attacks me. As this thread got longer more assholes started showing their faces throwing insults and acting like being a member is king status and those who aren't are mere peasants who don't deserve to be considered humans.

You need to remember people still have mixed feelings about reflection, we have seen a lot of color-less reflection scripts recently, and i for one am personally getting sick of repeating myself. SRL members (should be) generally nice, and well manered, i looked at the rest of this thread and noticed all your excuses and flamed a bit and i am sorry for that.

*sigh* how many times must i explain this? The "no backup" is constructive criticism because that is why they voted no, and it is why people will continuously vote no. And im not sure I want you to apply again, you seem to not have a good attitude when taking criticism…

I am suprised that you did that, and i am sorry for questioning your knowledge. You dont seem to understand that the SRL members app is to see what kind of person you are, and your scripting ability using the SRL include. Reflection is NOT in the SRL include…

From: Seroko

If you want to vote no your welcome to. If you want to comment on things I incorrectly did in my script you are welcome too, and its a big plus to write a short explanation of why it is wrong and what could of been done. If you come to just insult about reflection and insult me and expect me to suck up to you then please, do me a favor and vote no and go back to what ever you was doing.

I will do exactly that, and if your next app is good i will not vote in it, because i refuse to vote yes for you. The short explination of what you did wrong was not back reflection up with color… And i will do exactly that…

sorry but the main reason that people are voting no is the simple fact that creating a script using reflection does not show how much knowledge of the SRL include you have seeing as this is an application for SRL members

i know a few ppl here have had a pretty bad attitude towards you here but dont let that determine whether or not you apply again because it looks like you have potential and would make a good SRL member

so all i can say really is to make a colour script that meets the list of requirements for SRL membership

also il wait and see if masterkill posts his list because that covers everything that is needed
