Research and results of jagex's bann-system!

Hi everyone:)
You guys didn't know it, but I was testing jagex's system:p

I found out that some of the "that could maybe bann you" were true.
I also found out a few who weren't suggested yet, so here it is:

Not solving randoms -> bannable!

How did I prove this?
I made a level 3 account, burried a few bones and got the mordaut radom.
I left it in the random for a few weeks.
And than I was permantentelly banned for autoing.
I never autoed on this account, so this means jagex will bann you for not solving randoms!
________________________________________________________________
Being slow at things -> Bannable!

How did I prove this?
I made 2 accounts, 1 which used reflection and one with colorclicking and things.
Both of them were autofighting at the same place.
The color one used tpa's and things and was very much randomness, so it was not the script's fault.
The other one used reflection.

After 2 weeks of autofighting about 6 hours a day (I always solved the randoms, as I was in the room and I heard them coming and responded to everyone, even talked a bit, as this was for research so this could not have been the problem) the one which used color clicking was banned and the one with reflection wasn't.

Why did this happen?
It happened because the one which was searching for colors, took a bit more time searching for monsters and waiting for the colors to dissappear (the red and green ones which you get when you are fighting) than the reflection one which always knew when you are out of a fight and always knew the location of the monsters.
________________________________________________________________
Playing too much -> Bannable!

I made 2 accounts again and started woodcutting with the same script.
(their combat levels were around 40)
I always responded and solved randoms, so that was not the problem:)
1 account autoed for 10 hours a day.
The other for about 4 hours a day.

2 weeks later, the one which autoed 10 hours a day was banned and the other one wasn't:)
________________________________________________________________

That was an interesting month, eh:rolleyes:
I didn't tell anyone of this because it was a secret:cartman:

Here is a list of everything that can get you banned for autoing:
Staying online for too long
Not solving randoms
Not responding
No randomness (coördclicking, no random in waiting and so on)
Being slow at things
Client modifying (reflection doesn't modify, so that fine:))

Thats it for now, I am still doing a bit of research but I can't tell more at the moment.
I hope you guys find it usefull and do something with it:)

No, I don't…
But there is a chance that they think you are a bot and report you…
So thats the risk:p

did u delete ur random.dat a single time? or did u even auto unsigned? If not then this doesnt prove anything…

How about I used unsigned?XD
And yes, before starting this research, I DID delete it.
Before every research I did it;)
So that was NOT the problem:)

And my lvl 96 wcer (also pure autoed) is still not banned after a few weeks, so that was another way to prove that was not the problem^^

Of course I autoed unsigned/deleted random.dat, duhhh else this was just a waste of time xD

Jagex doesn't see your other accounts;)
There are several guides about that on srl, so search it^^

oh ok its just for multi-logging..nvr mind then

thought it had to do with a Less change of getting banned or rs or something lol

derr… jagex cant detect ur other accs… meaning example ur main or pure. If u auto on ur pure and get banned ur main gets banned too(if u auto signed, without deleting random.dat) if u auto unsigned only one charr will get banned.

The devs have had an account in the Bone Burrier random with the graves now for over a year and it's still not banned. - disproving of one ?

Hmm, thats really odd…
Maybe luck?
I can't explain that :duh:
Thanks for telling me though:)

EDIT:
Maybe only mordaut, as it is the most non-solved random yet?

So in other words, you used several variables with several accounts.

Meaning the results are useless.

That script has the options for breaks, it has a massive amount of randomness, an auto responder and personally i have never got a Maudart of Leo random whilst fighting.

It would be impossible to do this experiment with the same level chars because of the autofighting… one autoing 4 hrs a day is automatically going to be a lower level than the one autoing 10 hrs a day.

Level really doesnt count as a variable unless they are really far apart. ie a level 6 and a level 60. Within 10 combat levels wont effect a ban. From a reporting standpoint atleast.

@pvh
Btw most of this info we already knew… the thing about the slow detection i dont quite agree with. It would only be a problem with how the script is written for it to cause a ban. For example if you have too many procs in a color searching loop it will cause you to not be up to "human speed". Normally the color searching in SCAR is extremely fast and is just as fast as reflection can be.

Everything else, atleast I thought… was common knowledge.

Indeed, you are right, most of it was known already, but not everyone believed it, so I decided to test it.
And I am not saying that color finding can't be that fast, I am just saying that it can fail with more chance than reflection, as colors are with more monsters for example, and the ID's of them arn't ;)
Thanks for your comment:)

Because I am that good ;)

But no seriously it is because I am more of a huge army autoing still. I don't see the point in the game to concentrate on 1 character. My army right now is 13 men deep that are training on chickens (collecting feathers for money), and getting them to 40 40+ 40 then they will start doing their skills.

I have a few odd players here and there that are 40 70+ 40 that I auto random shit with that could be considered my single players…but

I think it all boils down to this:

  • Unsigned autoing. Make sure you delete all Jagex traces (i.e. Random.dat)
  • Proper scripts. Well designed scripts:
    • have enough randomness in colorclicking.
    • have large loops.
    • Have all timed loops: i.e. log you out in case of any trouble.
    • respond to real world players.
  • Dont auto for 12 hours straight. Play 3-6 hours max with on one player. If you have an army then there is no problem. you can switch players every 30-60 mins.

These are all essential rules! Failing to comply will result in a ban within weeks.

Additional you might consider:
  • Giving your players proper names.
  • Train your players to proper levels (40-40-40)
  • Make your players member for at least one month. It helps. Believe me. I know.
  • Have a Dynamic I.P.
  • Make sure no info appears on cheating boards linking your forum-name/IP to your runescape cheating busines.

We ave complied to all these rules and have autoed over two years (24/7) without a single ban.

Btw for the 10 hours a day autoing, did you do anything else just before it got banned? Asking because i got an account that was banned on 10th july for rule 7, 10 days ban.Immediately after the ban i continued with the same script and 20 days later on 10th aug it got banned again.

Is it a 20day continous kind of thing

thats interesting, that might mean that jagex has a mechanism that catches people who do exactly the same activity for long periods of time for 20 days continously

That's lucky especially that the script ran that long -.-

Anyway, great info. Even though people have already said this it is like science, you need to conduct an experiment more then once to get more accurate data. I thought the randoms ban was interesting. I thought it was just you not solving it quick enough but just logging out to get banned. Hmm

GJ! :)

Leave it to PvH to test this ^.^

Ehm. I just got my memby account off a 10 day ban bout a week ago, and my miner has 2 more days on his. The miner was prolly banned from LSM because of no autoresponder (In retrospect, I didn't really run it that long..). Though, I have a guy I just trained to 40, 40, 40 with ForeFeathers (because there's no other good fighting scripts that require minimalistic setup in Jr. Members *glares*). Either way, the latter was just fine.

Right now, the randoms are all going to hell. Jagex really is screwing us over by messing with them. Mordaut still isn't able to be solved by SRL, init?

I'd say that a few important things are:

Proper implementation of auto responders,
Multi Players,
and Lots of Randomness.

Meh. I hate bans >.>
