For those that don't know. I have been working somewhat with Scar++. A project of my own making.

Well. I just added DTMs. They where probably the last thing I thought I would get in. Turns out they weren't too hard at all to add. Bitmaps are next baby!

Woot, nice. I got the revision change by e-mail today. Can't wait to handle the zlib obfuscation for Bitmaps :p

I honestly fail at seeing a point of a SCAR version, just written in C++.

But, nice job :D

Faster language, support of a full language.

Nice. Bitmaps should be easy.

Not much faster, but you can more easily have an actual Linux version. :)

What do you expect from an interpreter?

If I'd start to learn C and use SCAR++, then I'd have better chances in arguing with Wizzup about speeds

Which we plan on doing. Boberman has already done some work towards making it platform independent if I'm not mistaken.

Not really work. Mostly I've just looked into what would have to change. The bad thing is that xlib and the like are really different from the way things are in windows. Not to mention that plugins are going to have to be recompiled for them to work in linux.

The good thing is that linux provides a lot of nice tools by default that everyone would have.

Right now I am compiling scar++ from linux with Mingw. Hopefully, I will later be able to actually run it natively. (Wine works, but I wouldn't want to have to depend on it)
