Hi,

After sometime of searching I found a thread that Fawki made ages ago. Inside that thread was the first ever public SRL release (ver 222) I think. I went and had a look at it and , wow. Most of the functions in there are certainly more differential then the SRL Include we have nowadays.
Its amazing how the old SRL developers, e.g Fawki, Stupid3000. Made something out of nothing. I guess its to them we really have to give thanks too.

Just for your enjoyment:

Made something out of Squig.

Umm…No. Well I have squig here so lets see.

Nop your wrong, look very different, corrected.

Actually, it is. That was the first public release, not the actual first (private) release. Squig was originally the base of SRL, then SRL expanded and added more and more functions and they were so modified they were way different and much better ;)

I still have a much older version (0.01?) . It was called RSRL in those days. I will see if I can dig that up. You'd have a big laugh :)

EDIT: SRL was original my idea, not squigs, nor mutants, nor RsN, nor Stupid's. I asked and recieved their full permission to merge the includes together into one big include…. creditted off course. The philosophy of SRL can be found at the main page.

EDIT: Yeah, i know that, except some of the functions and procedures ideas' came from Squig :D Right?

erm….. actually… none of the stuff squig wrote made it to SRL :).

Wasn't really needed. Things worked well even the simplier ways :p But now RS is evolving and obviously SRL has to evolve too :p

I think every function that was imported from Squig back then is now completely different.

Squig was a good guy, but i never thought his coding was quite exceptional in any way shape or form. If i remember correctly Squiq was just a inflated Osi.

^ Lol that was exactly what we talked about :p

I still remember back at MITB when SRL was just a forming idea and Starblaster said he wouldn't use it lol. Then Villavu forums was made and now here we are.

Well, here it is. RSRL 0.01. Its really not worth looking into, but it is the first attempt on splitting up the include and bringing together all the big players in the include-field. It took me more time to convince them then it took to compile it.

BTW: I have every single include ever written printed out and compiled to a book with over 1000 pages :)

Sweet. That book sounds like a sexy idea.

I loved the Edit on Dan's post too. It did give us a laugh. :) <3 Fawki.

Now that's just epic. I say to scan the images to your PC and save it in a <5 mb RAR file, heh, then recycle all that paper.

Thanks for SRL 0.01 though :)
