Barack Obama Speech Details (aug 28 08)

I just finished watching the speech it was so powerful, and im going for Obama.

Im Neutral im not a democrat/republican.

*guys look, this is a first time thing, a Black Running For President(that is huge). First Catholic As President which was: Kennedy. that was a big deal back than now it came to a diffrent skin color, which is good!*

i hope im not going far with this but its big for the usa.

I wouldnt say i like john mccain but he is the lesser of two evils and i have to say a FAR better man who has sacrificed enourmously for this country. people look at JFK as if he was a really good president, he wasnt, i was talking to my grandmother about that and she said that they were scared that he could be the antichrist or something that would be horrible for our country… he was terrible to his wife, is prooved to have had affairs. He may have died before his time but he really wasnt very good. Barack is very inexperienced (3 years on the national level) noone knows REALLY what he stands for. He has preached change a lot but what change? what are we changing to? from capitalism to socialism (which you can hear undertones of from his speaches). He is not a great speaker, as i said in the other thread, without a prompter he struggles.

i like the speach he gave like 10 mins ago, but yeah dude you got some good points, and JFK got assassined from a anti-christ am i right? i forgot what my teacher said today i think thats what he said.

Depends on how you look at it. I wouldn't say it was a terrible 8 years.

Since Obama is so inconsistent, unpatriotic, and just generally unappealing, McCain for me.

I'm not sure how hard it would be to find some proof on the internet, but I'm almost sure I'm right. AFAIK it all has to do with the levels of testosterone and estrogen in a person's body.

no i am not saying that it has appeared, and dissapeared throughout history. In my belief it first started in the cities of Sodom (where sodomy came from) and Gamorah and in these cities people were experimenting sexually and homosexuality became socially acceptable, later they were destroyed by God (that is how the biblical story goes). Homosexuality also took a popularity in Ancient Rome. From both of these examples, Homosexuality=Destroyed civilisations and Destroyed Civilisations=fail, there for Homosexuality=fail :D kthxbai

John McCain was a well known idiot at school. He had the lowest scores on all of his exams. Think he is a great war hero? Think again. He came at 5th from bottom of his class, flew down 3 planes in training, and there wasn't even one single shot. His plane was also shot down on his first war flight. The only reason why he couldn't be touched was because his father was admiral.

Look at this guy. He is age 71. So he will be 72 on the 29th of august. He will be 76 once he gets out of office then. Even his speeches are quite bad. So now tell me, would you want this guy, or Barack Obama

Yeah his statements are highly innacurate, while Mccain did crash during his training it was only twice(?) and one of those times was from power lines, he flew LOTS of missions before being shot down, and, no matter what his combat record might be, you cannot deny that he was a couragous and honorable man, he was offered early leave from the POW camp but denied because he wanted every man who was there before him to leave as well if they expected him to leave, he now cannot raise his arms above his head. So what if he is elderly? He is in good mind and health, age discrimination plox?

Obama says he's going to design the next generation of ultra fuel efficient cars, make nuclear power safe, make coal environmentally friendly, get you a job, a college degree, balance the budget while cutting taxes for 95% of taxpayers in a time of war, eliminate all waste and pork in the budget, close every tax haven and tax shelter worldwide, and make us 100% energy independent in 10 years.

I think if he was to pick ONE of those issues, and spend 8 years focused on that ONE issue alone, he might be able to accomplish it. Saying you will do all of the above is utterly ridiculous. It exposes his own inexperience.

And yes, despite the historical spin, JFK was a pretty lousy president, and Nixon was a pretty good president.

your right, but for sure he cant do all but im pretty sure he'll do stuff for the insurance/Lower Tax and quite more that would take a while , the big stuff idk it looks hard in 8 years but he can get it started and the next president can continue it :) and i like how he challenged/was straight foward about bush/mccain.

i assume this is who we are going for and not who we are voting for (it's my understanding a majority of us can't vote). Anyways, at our school Obama is that hip cool thing, and everybody likes him just cause they think it is cool too, not because they understand his issues. Obviously i have faults with both McCain and Obama, if i didn't then it wouldn't be a presidential election. Anywho Obama is going to hold off the Space program, or in other words scrap it all together. With Obama we will NOT get to the moon any time soon, so i do like McCain for that. I do like Obama's ideas on the economy, energy, and other things of that nature but I have a feeling that he is more conservative than the liberal pansies in his party (sorry that if i offended you, i just heartily dislike hardcore liberals). Also McCain is just soooo old that he might not be open to change (i don't know why but older people tend to change less) and this country does need to change. Overall I would go for McCain but I really wouldn't mind having Obama.

He is an empty shell who says whatever the polls tell him to say, as tarajunky said earlier i just ditto his comments.

McCain is a Liberal-Republican, he is about as middle of the road as can be, i think he can cross party lines and do some good (at least in the eyes of liberals)… just because old people arent for change, it doenst mean change in the country, simply, change in themselves and their ideas. And the reason for this is simple psychology, they were the "children are to be seen and not heard" generation, at that time they wanted to speak their mind, and after a long time people get sick of it and since they are the elders and (For the most part) we respect our elders they dont want to change the way THEY are so they wont…

And really what just sickens me is I bet 13 out of the 16 people are voting for obama because of the idol hes become. All these teenagers and blacks want the first black pres. I dont see obama as an idol. I just wanna see something different. Today Mccain chose the alaskian gov for VP. Sucks for him that he cant use inexperience against obama right now. Palin actually has more experience than Barack does, she served as a mayor for a while, has actually done her job as senator(?) for her term so far instead of running for the presidency. Met what people? If we dont drill then what are we going to use until we find a viable alternative resource? Also we use oil for more than just energy, we use it in a variety of products like plastic, so drilling doesnt really hurt us…

Why would it run out? It comes from organic substances (mostly fish ect), and while we may be using it at a faster rate than nature is producing, we still have time to find alternative resources… What do you expect us to do? Not drill, use the rest of the oil/gas we have right now and rely on alternative resources as they are right now?! none compare to what oil can give us, and i am all for getting alternatives, but we need to drill and research or we wont be able to survive…

Why not tap into your own resources for a change? Instead of buying off other countries :p?

Obama's campaign immediately started attacking Palin over her inexperience. If anything, the debate over experience in this campaign has been increased by choosing her, since now both sides are talking about it.

Her son just joined the Army last September, and is being shipped to Iraq on 9/11. I'd say she "knows" more about the cost of war than most. And of course, McCain will be the one running things if they get elected, so unless he immediately dies, she will have plenty of time to learn. You can't say the same for Obama.

Actually, she was a very smart choice. You see, she has more experience than Obama, she would win over the hanging votes of women that previously went for Hillary, and she was pro drilling in Alaska.

We NEED oil. It runs our lives and if it keeps going up, the cost of EVERYTHING will go up. Even candy prices have been raising and that's just a small item. Cost of production goes up. McCain is pro drilling in our own country.

Ok so Obama has "been" to Iraq twice. If I went there then I could run for president? It's not like he actually did anything. And the time he was supposed to go to Germany to meet the soldiers there in the hospitals and stuff, he pussied out and has a nice trip to germany.

It's basically a party-neutral research group that goes over all the speeches and advertisements. Notice how many are republican commercials? >.< (The point I was trying to make about marketing is I've seen a lot more republican commercials attacking Obama rather than the other way around, although I don't really watch TV that much.)

Sarah Palin is hot, and so are her non preggo daughters. Anyways I choose not to vote but McCain is going to keep us in the war forever.

I think that obama is way to young. He has had no experience running anything at all and is jumping in and trying to become president. One of the main resons that he is still runing is because hes black (not be racists). I think that he should step down and get some more experience.

And those "I invented the internet" videos, I'm pretty sure they only support McCain because they're a religious semi-propaganda group (makes me sad), and Republicans don't seem to realize there's a seperation of Church and State for a reason (freedom of religion), and that all Americans should follow Christianity's rules regardless of their religion (take the abortion issues for example, anti-abortionists argue that it's murder because the Bible says life begins at conception, many others would argue life begins at consciousness in the same way that growing animals for food isn't murder)

and yeah Obama wants to pull out of Iraq, but exactly how is he gonna do that, if all our troops were gone all the average citizens there would have to fend for themselves and be forced to have a terrorist group take them over.

Number one: You know perfectly well that McCain was a Prisoner of War. In Vietnam, no less. Do you know what kind of treatment they go through?

They are stabbed, burned, beated, shot, secluded, spat on. They are forced to eat the flesh of their friends when they have no more food, and are given little water. May I ask you what that would do to your mind, if you went through 10 years of that? I don't even know what terrible things it would do to you. Did you know that Palin took on the REPUBLICANS in Alaska because they were corrupt? She is VERY strong, she knows what she believes in, sure no foreign policy experience but she is the #2 person on the ticket, Obama has 0 foreign policy experience and he is #1 on the ticket!
