Well, i'm looking for an overall good laptop for around 1,000 AUD.



I'm looking for around

* 2 gb ram
* Dual core 2.0 ghz
* 256 mb graphics card
* Built in Wireless internet adapter



If anyone is kind enough to post back with some good laptops for around that price and those spec's, it would be appreciated :)

I am actually also looking to buy an new laptop.

Because my current one have Pentium 4 and 800mb ram, I CAN NOT.
#1 Get drops from drop party.
#2 Watch movies while macroing.
#3 PLAY STARCANNON!.

I am not an very good computer person (vocabulary wise), this is what I am looking for:
Graphics good enough to play cod 4.
2GB ddr2 ram.
Dual core.
Write cd/dvds.
As cheap as it can get.
(I don't want some random built in web cams…windows live photo gallery)


If any one can help. I would be really appreciated.

Dell sux! HP FTW!!!! I have a Dual core centrino hp and i can run at least 5 rsbots before it explodes! I have do not have enough rs accounts account to go farther though. It has 3 ddr2 and a 250 gig hard drive

Don't buy a laptop :) & switch to XP once you buy it since all new computers are running on Vista now.

Just my opinion, but you should get a Mac i have one and they never get virises and it works better. The bad thing is that you cant run most store baught games on it. online games are fine though. Btw you wount be able to use scar

Either go for Dell XPS M1330 or XPS M1530. There are many configurations available, and they usually fall within your price range.

Also you might want to check out their "Studio" line up, fairly new, look great and the prices are a little bit better.

Just because they are high priced does not make them the best. Sure they are powerful computers but why buy it and waste battery life on stuff that he wont use most of the time anyways?

I'm not sure what you're looking to do with a laptop. But if its just runescape and such, don't waste money on high end alienwares. They are bulkier, battery life not as great, and would be overkill for your needs(if they are simple).

Again, look into the Dell XPS or Studio lines of laptops.

Buy the best white macbook. And install Parallels Desktop when you want to use Scar. =) Im really happy with mine! No problems so far, not one bluescreen! (impossible to get on mac). No need for virus program etc etc… So many good reasons.

then why the fuck would you ever want mac…seems like every reason not to get one. But seriously, dells laptops blow hardcore, the screen on ours died after a year and a half.

64-Bit Vista…you can fix that though, so I say theese one :)

here in the USA at walmart all laptops are under 700usd some with up to 4gp ram. Walmart has cheapest prices.

I would get a macbook Pro I have one and they work awsome, they are a bit more expensive then some but it'll pay its self off from all of the crashes and viruses that you get on windows.

All I have to say is, if you want a powerful gaming pc / laptop then Alienware is the way to go :D

I've got a custom built Alienware Area-51 ALX, goes like No Tomorrow.. But mine was a fair bit more than 1 grand.
