I just wanted to say that I really appreciate the fact that u guys take the time out to make scripts and was just wondering how do you feel about doing it…is it fun like a hobby or boring as hell? I have observed that it seems like some SRL members have hostility to non members (not saying any names) I could be completely wrong but thats the reason i wrote this thread. Do you guys feel that you have to work to make noobs like me a script to mess around for a few weeks then get banned (maybe not) or do u get some joy out of it? :)

Its partly an addiction for me and was fun but scripting for rs is gets boring (mainly the failsafes and anti bans when i have a challange to do something new i like it)
And it does get real annoying when noobs ive you shit when you have put time and effort in with the same problems. eg they dont have srl.

I enjoy programming, mainly C++ and java, but Scar is easy to use, compiles instantly, and works great on cheating for flash games, I don't use it for RuneScape though. Programming is pretty fun to me though, I don't find it boring unless motivation is running low.

haha yeah I would agree with u waddo if i was a scripter, but u gotta realize everyone was a noob once..its when people start demanding stuff in a rude way is when it would get very annoying for you probably. But most kids like that are like 12-14 so it makes sense as to why their so immature lol..i see that kind of stuff around the forums fairly often. like "hurry up and fix it!!" lol

its fun, but i get bored easily and give up easily in scripting. so yeah tho i have to be in the Mood…

That's it for me :). I usually start programming at the most random times. I usually won't do it when I'm very bored or have a lot of free time. Instead I'll start when I have many things to do and I want to get away from them (procrastination ftw). Once I get into the project I continue it in my next free/bored time. I don't really have a lot of those any more so I cherish them greatly.

I think scripting is a fun thing to do when I want to get away from doing something else, like WhoCares357 mentioned. I do it for the challenge of making something that works and the reward of seeing it in action.

I try not to be hostile towards newer members (though I certainly can't admit that I'm not annoyed every once in a while) considering I was new once. A nudge (or push in some cases :p) in the right direction is a great way to get a newbie on the right path to scripting. Unfortunately, some users only want to leech the scripts by learning how to run them and not learning what's behind the block of code they see. They continue to follow the "drag client, fill in player info, hit play, post on forums that something isn't working" mentality that they started out with instead of exploring the code further. That's what really gets some of the SRL Members I'd think.

I mainly do it just so people can use it and learn from it. I don't think many scripters script do it for private gain, only so they can find a new challenge or make a longlasting impression on SRL.

i made a script for my main when i need to do something but im going out or something and if its good i release it

It's fun while nice people that don't spam your threads and being nice in general, Posting proggies, Asking stuff and trying to learn how to script :)
Sure you don't have to learn how to script but atleast have general knowledge of the search bottom would'nt hurt would it?

I hate when people love you the first then hates you.
When i made my script alot of Jr.Members loved me and thanked me over msn… and when i ask for something i get rude answers telling me im lazy.
Now im not sure, but scripting a good working script and lazyness don't fit.
However, I'm in general a nice person.

I script as an hobby :O I like it and its how i waste my time ^^
It keeps me thinking creativ and i like that :)

For me.. Well, it's a hobby. I do it for the feeling that I'm making something humanlike with my fingers (as opposed to making something quite human with other parts of my anatomy =P)

I like it when people give good comments on the scripts we make. It's like a pat on the back, a feeling of satisfaction. It just sucks when you don't have any good ideas for scripts.. @_@

Well, I code in irl for my work, but scripting with SCAR and SRL is way more fun so its like a hobby. And all the time I just want to get better and better scripter. So I'm also kind addicted to it. :D

i write scripts when im too annoyed to do it legit… Like teleporting… i just made a teleporting script.

One reason i write my script and almost never run anybody elses scripts is because i know what they do and what they shouldnt.

jukka im too annoyed to do anything legit in rs these days lol…without pking the game got really lame, no more satisfaction of taking peoples hard earned money. all my pures are gone :( except one lol but hes a mage

I just made a ranging script because i cant be arsed to range legitly :P

I'm new to using SCAR, but I find scripting and programming very fun.
