a suggestion that would most likely prevent loads of bans: for scripters

well here goes, i dont know much about scripting but i think i figured out why a lot of the scripts on SRL are so obvious for fagex to catch. when the mouse is moving to click on something it goes in a perfect line…such as clicking on a monster or whatever..now if someone could make it so that it isnt completely perfect..then maybe it would make the scripts that much harder to detect.

its not a perfect line which is why it IS hard to detect

If you have looked on MMouse, you will see it uses Windmouse which a buncha parameters like gravity, and wind. Once you ahve tried windmouse for yourself, you will realise that it DOESN't move in a straight line.

It moves in a lot of small curves with random jerks, and stops depending on the parameters, so..

ahh ok just making sure…some seem like they are not using MMouse thats why i asked

Mouse Uses MMouse, MMouse Uses WindMouse… :p

i know of a lot of popular scripts that have that already, but it's always a good idea to remind scripters

Actually I remember a few people mentioning Jagex only records clicks not movement so the only important aspect being sensible timing. Lifelike movement is only useful as educational and to allow a visual aid to make sure the timing is accurate as you roughly know how fast you move the mouse and can compare and it looks awesome.

Is there any way we could make it move its mouse like RSBot?
(Not advertizing) It curves alot more then SRL's MMouse. Just Wondering.

well, mixter said that jagex only record the clicks and not the movement.. so there realy aint eny reason to…

If moving really is nothing, then what is needed is scripters to write in errors which their scripts recover from.

I'm really shocked to hear that jagex would only record mouse clicks. To me, the first thing I would think of to detect people cheating is to watch mouse movements. 90% of the bots out there use precise, pre-recorded mouse movements, so it would only be logical to look for linear mouse movements that are not indicative of player movements. How are you certain that jagex only looks at mouse clicks?

Maybe they only record clicks until someone reports you, and if someone doe, they will record the movement too…?

MylesMadness

They record movement 100%, if you play around in the runescape client in the mouse class it has a procedure(if you want to call it that) that records mouse movement.

Markus

2008-08-25 06:49:21

They don't record movement 100%, only once every 50ms. When you click, the movements are sent to the server.

and how do we know this?

Markus

2008-08-25 07:23:56

Because some people decompiled and deobfuscated the client and looked for it?

The updated client? The recent update that was made?

Correct me if this is stupid, its late. So that means that if you hover over(Lets say a) oak tree, and you dont click on it for a while(meaning 5 - 10 minuites(but moving it enough to stay loggedin)) that means jagex still has no idea your hovering it until you actually click it ,,,, then the server gets the info about you hovering the tree for a long time , and jagexs flags your account?

Because if you dont click theres no info being sent to the server. Only thing being sent is the pixel movements to stay logged in ?
correct , or stupid xDD :P

Always though Jagex didn't detect mouse movements but rather the clicks… How would they detect how your mouse moves off the screen

i think they catch us by seeing if theres a pattern on the clicking of somthing for example if we always click on the same part of the same tree there gona catch us even if it it is a random clicker it must have some routine right

IronGummy Bear

2009-01-08 20:33:04

That is a good idea you have because people can never be perfect, and click the same spot of a tree all the time for like 12 hrs.

benjaa

2009-01-08 21:04:43

MMouse should have like a random "kick" in it

Like sometimes i go to click something and the mouse shoots up like 50 pixels
that would make it move human-like

only time i got banned using a scar script withs harry fight cave other than scar ownz.

and the func MMouse doesnt go perfectly straight.

You do that. We could even have one day totally designated to doing this, among all autoers around the world. I like this idea very much, and its something i would actually return to runescape for.
